The post saying he couldn't name any of our players got me thinking of my top five Bristol City players of all time.
1. That bloke with a moustache who looked like a tramp. Gerry summat 2. Fuck knows
They've had some good managers though
1. T Pulis.

It's the thinnest of thin pickings that's for sure.

Good laugh the Bristol forum - Lets hope this guy never opens his own bookies....not a cat in hell's chance the bookies will have them as favourites.
''Posted 1 hour ago Not the draw we wanted but Bookies will make us fav to progress i would think so a good chance to get a top prem side in the last 16. ''

Hardly a glamour tie for either of us but a decent game away at a decent Championship club. Stoke should win maybe 2-1 or 2-0.
Surprised how dismissive they are about us but that will make it all the sweeter when we knock them out 😎

For a city the size of Bristol they really have under achieved and I can only remember them in the top division in the 70s
They should be either in or skirting around the top division but only ever skirt with promotion from the 3rd tier and then struggle to even stay in the championship ( if at all they do )!!
They really do have done delusional fucktards on that site don't they but I'm sure there's plenty of reasoned ones ....but like here really
Personally I think it will be an excellent cup tie

To be fair I don't think that reaction is too cocky or arrogant or even abusive. I remember drawing Fulham in one of the cups in maybe about 2006, and I thought "boring" followed by "we can win this". If you don't have the hope of beating teams better than you then what's the point of football?
You'd think that lad saying he only knows Shaq, Allen and Shawcross would know Crouch and Butland play for us; and even if he doesn't know they currently play for us, that he'd still know of Berahino and Fletcher, but still.

Reasonable draw but Hughes will not get away with playing a side similar to last nights. If he doesn't want a repeat of last years dismal knockout I hope Hughes won't think he can get away with playing Adams, Crouch and Bojan. If we want to really compete for a cup he needs to put out a very strong side.

Got to be a good shout for live TV coverage Ek Agreed. Obviously there will be the usual scramble to televise Man Utd's tough tie at home to the mighty Burton. But beyond that, in the early stages of the competition a Championship side at home to a mid table Premier League side might draw a bigger TV audience than an all Premier League tie which simply replicates games which are televised every week of the season. Fingers crossed we get televisedas I don't fancy a 460 mile round trip. It's all about viewing figures for the sponsors and not good games It's why Manchester United have been live for roughly their last 60 consecutive fa cup games All the romance died many many years ago

There is no consideration of what might be an 'interesting tie with a potential upset'. It's a decent draw for us at a club one of our previous managers declared was bigger than Stoke City! One of TPs many spouted verbal bollox. We should have a reasonable allocation...might be tempted to come over for this one.

Championship v non-Big6 Prem with the Championship team at home and no replay/penalty shoot out lottery is normally pretty even. It's well within our capabilities to lose this one, anything less than near enough our best team and 100% commitment and we'll get done for sure.

It is a potential banana skin. Perhaps LMH will play his first eleven (whatever that is!).
It's important to get a couple of good cup runs this season. Last season's cup performances was another layer of crapness in a disappointing year.

Some fantastic draws in there, lots of Prem matchups which gives us as good a chance of any of being able to wrangle the cup this year.

This could be a "banana skin" fixture and should not be taken lightly.
This is not the Bristol City of old. They are now controlled by Bristol Sport, an ambitious and not short of money organisation, which also includes Rugby and basketball.
The seriousness of their intent is indicated by the multi million pound rebuild of Ashton Gate, which is now a very impressive stadium.
I would not be suprised to see them make a concerted attempt at gaining Prem Lge status in a few years time.

Perfect draw. Ten minute walk from my house. Hopefully loads of south west Stokies make the effort. Will be tough though and we'd better win otherwise I'll never hear the last of it from my 82 mates and colleagues.
