The mighty Frankel gets his first European classic winner as a sire as his daughter Anapurna wins the Oaks. Great stuff... In what I think will turn out to be a very strong Oaks. I'd be keeping a lot of these horses on-side throughout the season.

The incredible Enable wins the King George at Ascot. What a fantastic race with Crystal Ocean.

Always a glorious sight, Enable coming around the bend, middle of the field and within seconds being out in front. He certainly did look emotional.

What a glorious days racing we have today with the Oaks AND the Derby! Surely got to be a strong chance of Frankie landing the double? Passion & Amhran Na Bhfiann as bigger priced e/w shots.

Well, Frankie has had a shocking day, but Amhran Na Bhfiann ran into a place at 100/1 for some eachway money!

Where does the time go?! Hard to believe this was TEN years ago!
The only race he ever start odds-against, and the closest any horse ever got to him.

I remember watching that, Nathaniel was very good though in his own right wasn't he, and he may have had the last laugh being Enables' dad At a lesser level (the 17.50 at Hamilton) - I'm liking the look of Royal Countess for a decent e.w. wager.

Nathaniel was a good horse. Only out of the frame once in 8 Group races and winner of an Eclipse and King George. I should imagine Gosden must have though what the fuck happened when he didn't win his maiden!
Although this was Frankel's shortest winning distance, I don't think it was his most 'fortunate' win. That was against the decent but not outstanding Zoffany in the St James Palace at Ascot.
Mr Queally was a very lucky boy that day.

Ebor week next week.
The Nunthorpe looks like it has the potential to be a very good race.

Gutting news. I knew he was bad but the last I'd heard he was on the mend. Rest in peace, Pat.
