We had a defensive crisis against Leicester with 5 CB's out which might ease a little for this game with 1 or 2 to return. But if we're playing 2 LB's at CB again like the chaotic Leicester game, Crouch would be your best option upfront. If he plays well and puts himself around the box, there's no chance the likes of Monreal and Kolasinac will keep him out. Should be a tough game. Welcome Gooner. Croach could well be a handful and Hughes is not afraid to use him in these types of games. However I think me and most fans want to see our new signings Choupo-Moting & Jese starting. But that means playing a similar style to Arsenal (on the floor passing) and we probably wont succeed that way. Sanchez is still out I presume?

1st goal is crucial here. We've got to score the first goal. I think Lacazette will have a good season so we'll need to watch him. Should we score first and the crowd are energetic then who knows. They'll most likely play a 3 at the back won't they? But I'm not confident at all, Arsenal win most of thier games against mid table sides. Not to mention Lacazette averaged in Ligue 1 a goal every game. I'm going for a Arsenal win 2-1.

Nailed on.not a chance jesse will be on maybe at the expense of saido The poster's team selection is nailed on I mean. In my opinion. And Jese will do well to make the bench. He may be eased on later in the game if we are playing catchup.

Jese won't start. Surely?

Jese won't start. Surely? Bench you'd think. Can see it being the same team at Everton apart from Bruno probably coming in for Cameron. If he does, would Cameron displace Diouf at RWB or maybe Allen in midfield (with Allen in turn replacing Bojan a bit further forward?) Can see him being tempted by both, but maybe giving the same XI a chance with the exception of Bruno for Geoff.

Wouldn't be shocked if he didn't, but I think he may well give him one more go. If he leaves him out tomorrow, it's tough to see him ever getting back in as a starter, with Choupo and Jese hovering. Can certainly see the Geoff-Fletcher-Allen option tempting him, but I think he may give Bojan another chance.

I'd play Crouch & Choops in for Saido & Bojan
Bruno in for Geoff
might consider moving Geoff to RWB maybe
exploit Arsenals weaknesses
having said that if he goes with Bojan & Berahino then they can hurt Arsenal too

Yeah, could be a big if though? He said he was only fit enough for half an hour at Everton and he hasn't had much of a pre-season. Who knows? There was a time when you could have a stab at predicting Hughes XIs - but that ship has sailed!

Bojan deserves another start. Did no worse than anyone else last week

Bojan deserves another start. Did no worse than anyone else last week I thought he was alright yeah, however Choupo Moteng looked more of a threat when he came on.

It's been a while since we've turned over one of the "big" teams at home. No better way of correcting that than to give Arsenal a smack in the chops. I fancy us nicking a 2-1 win.

Same team that started against Everton for me. We looked solid but toothless.
Hopefully he doesn't leave it much longer after half time if we're still toothless.

Tricky selection tomorrow. He must be tempted to start with Crouch and Choupo for a little more height and physicality, but what does that do for the confidence of Bojan and particularly Saido? I agree with FM, we may need Bojan's creativity.
I think BMI will start and Jese will get the last 20 minutes. Just wonder if he might go with Cameron next to Fletch for a bit more cover in front of the back 3, with Joe missing out. He can also drop in for Mame if he bombs on. I think Diouf can get in behind them if they play a back 3.
Jack
Zoom Ryan BMI
Diouf G-Cam Fletch Pieters
Shaq Bojan
Crouch
Really tough game. It will be a good barometer of where we are after getting thumped for 4 a few months ago.

Can see Hughes going route 1. Wenger will see this coming and play Rob Holding centrally. He had Saido in his back pocket last season and he handled Crouch also. Arsenal will play that mind numbing sideway passing.

Play Diouf up front with Bojan behind and Cameron at right wing back. Keep Choupo and Crouch as Plan B for later. It won't happen, but should.

I would go
Butland
Zouma Shawcorss BMI Pieters
Cameron Fletcher
Shaq Bojan Jese
Berahino
Hughes will go:
Butland
Shawcross BMI Zouma
Diouf Pieters
Allen Fletcher
Shaq Berahino Bojan

I think Hughes will be massively tempted by Crouch up front, the fact it's against Arsenal and after Everton dealt with Saido so easily. BMI for Cameron, that's all I reckon he'll change.

Smash and grab Jack Zouma Ryan Bruno Cameron Fletcher Adam Pieters Diouf Crouch Chopper Second half go small and rapier like up front with Shaqiri, Bojan {or Saido} and Allen for Adam. Conner wait.
