Is it my imagination or do we always play Rochdale in the early rounds of cups? Haha was thinking just the same. It seems like every fucking time. Even though it probably isn't but jesus man we seem to have drawn them a few times over the years!!

How the hell are Newport in the Northern section - it must be two hours drive north to wolves who are in the southern section and Burton us further north still and they are in the Southern draw. #geographically challenged It's because West Ham and Newport have both requested to play their tie away so to save them from drawing each other, they've regionalised the draw and shoved Newport in the North.

Surely we can play some squad players - youngsters in this one and go through...
Can't we?

Mind you we had to draw them then as they were the only team left. Steve Melton played in the away tie if I remember correctly.

That kind of makes sense but Newport has been drawn at home. According to my phone. A redraw beckons!

Is there such a thing as a fringe player now? Everyone bar Ireland had a run out last season, plus a few not named. Squad game with a few obvious starters. Hope Grant gets the Cups but other than that it'll be a mix n match won't it? Not a full on second XI.

Well we've only played them 10 times and only 2 of those were league games, the rest all cup matches since 1997 so their name has cropped up a bit. This was the side in the away game in the auto windscreens. G Ward, M Hansson (B Gudjonsson, 46), N Mohan, A Jacobsen, F Kippe, C Clarke, G Kavanagh, J O'Connor, B Gunnarsson (S Melton, 70), P Thorne, A Gunnlaugsson (B Petty, 84)

As things stand I'd love to see this team playing in it; Grant Edwards Zouma Muni Tymon Cameron Adam Verlinden Bojan Ramadan Ngoy Obviously with us selling anyone and everyone and injuries that will change. And that barring Zouma would be 10 changes I think.

I hope we take it serious. A good cup run made our season 2 years ago (and ended it when we lost to Liverpool)
2 piss poor showings last year ruined out season from the start, post January 5th we had absolutely nothing play for and it showed

Not losing it quite yet. There's a story about that game and the home game to Wycombe that followed.

Other than to attempt to reinforce your untenable point? I want eleven changes from what? Silly.

Where does the North begin and the south end. Are the midlands in the north or south or both ? Wolves are in the South, Where as Newport Co are in the north...Mmmmm...Go figure...

Rochdale are a decent team and 4 of these players need the experience so should play. The rest will need the game time. And that side is easily good enough to win the game. Why is it untenable point? Loads of clubs make lots of changes.

If Tymon, Verlinden and N'Goy don't get themselves fit we might not have the luxury of making too many changes....

I must have been living under a rock. Is this the league cup? Yes, it's the League Cup sponsored by a drinks company. When it was the Carling Cup, the winners used to get free booze. When it was called the Milk Cup the winners got free milk. Similarly, the winners of the FA cup get nothing ! I'll just get my coat.
