Shawcross out, Wolly back in?* * Sorry, bad timing... Out of a bad bunch I thought that Wolly was our best defender against st Pauli.

i think that it's looking very likely that Ryan hasn't signed a new contract because he hasn't been offered one.

As previously stated I'm expectimgbfor our big players as people sense blood totally down to our lack of investment, ambition and inane sell before you buy policy , Shaq and Butland may well be next before the end of August .

If we got Bruno in then it might happen. Ryan isn't the player he was before his back injury. I have always liked Ryan but I agree that, if we got Indi we might consider letting him go. He's not the player he was and I'm not sure how many years we should extend his contract by. And if we don't extend his contract we will lose him for nothing in 12 months time. Sweeney may be ready to fill his boots in a year but that is the gamble. I am concerned about having Ryan in the side this season but as you say we have nobody ready to come in as Sweeney isn't ready, Wolly and Cameron aren't capable enough either. Only Bruno is up to it and with Zouma they would be be my first choice partnership.

He’s been awful during pre-season. I’d gladly sell him.

I could cope with Zouma and Muniesa. Ryan really needs to step up. Nah this has to be Bruno if it happens. Interesting. I've always thought Muniesa was quality.

I keep saying give the guy a new deal asap. 2 years should be fine
We can't lose the spine of our dressing room ethos in one window.

But not as a top earner at the club and reduced wages . But he won't want that he will want a 4 year deal with top money . On that basis I can see him been sold or leaving on a free

If this happens, then never mind Hughes being sacked, everybody involved in transfers and contracts has to go.

I don't know how any player can succeed in a side that changes as much as ours.

Normally you'd dismiss this kind of talk. But something a little bit strange is going on with this contract, whether it's Shawcross' demands or something else entirely. Would Burnley be prepared to offer more than we would though? No chance you'd think, unless Hughes has lost faith in him. With a year left on his deal, wouldn't have thought they'd stretch to £10m. I vaguely recall Ryan had a contract where his pay matched the top rate, whatever that was. I stand to be corrected. If so, maybe the club are no longer happy with that arrangement and I wouldn't blame them.

I would snap their hand off for 8 million with Ryan's recent form! Ryan's recent form? He was in central defence for Stoke on 22 occasions last season when we conceded one goal or less.

He hasn't been great for a while now but to sell him to Burnley or anyone now would be madness. Signing too many players at once can cause problems but the same can be said for selling too many players in one go.

If we sell shawcross before buying a replacement I think we can safely say something is very very wrong and the truth in the end will out , At what point does my predicted squad implosion become reality I'd say with such a deal if we don't have a replacement in the door same day . jesus h fookin christ, take a few happy pills will you, somebody totally out of the blue mentions something and you are all over it like Blair on a spin doctor

I can certainly see the club not being happy with that being in operation going forward. But suppose it's all just complete speculation at this stage.
