In my mind this is unforgivable. There was no connection between 9/11 and the Iraq war. The invasion of Iraq was ostensibly about WMD (which Hans Blix had told us they didn't have) but Tony had already told Dubya that "I will be with you whatever". It makes me feel sick.

Where as the tory party and the tory press don't like war do they! wanting a war with Spain over Gibraltar (Michael Howard?), and other conflicts. lets face it Iraq was a thing waiting to happen for years, after all the vitriol and posturing by there leader the same with Libya and unfortunately north Korea if you threaten your own people and use chemicals on them then say you have WMDs eventually someone will believe you and take action. Its a bit like saying in a den of thieves I'm a millionaire and have a Rolex (when its a nock off) you'd expect to be mugged wouldn't you??

There is one difference he had a social conscience, didn't rip off the elderly the disabled or the poor didn't go cap in hand to hang onto power to a far right party, put in place social reforms that benefitted the many not the few, didn't slash the police, army, NHS, etc didn't put the northern Ireland peace process at risk, didn't sell off national assets like housing, electricity, gas, the banks, post office etc so if you ignore all of that then yes he was a tory

Far too much public hysteria around this (Iraq) in my view . Blair took a leaders decision , based on dodgy intelligence , which was thought to be accurate at the time .
He was a very good PM until he lost the plot on foreign policy post 2002 .
