Well, there have been quite a few, both up 'ere and dahn saahff - zshuzshed up a bit and put back/fed to maggots/also whilst under anaesthetic being adorned 'in very personal places' with ball bearings, feathers and tinsel and the footage set to music and posted on YouTube, etc? Got quite a bit of catching up to do on the Oatie You've missed nowt. Literally nowt😔 I have missed the gang, though, Bathy!

The initial plan was to take on the fixtures of Man U in the Europa, as EEFC had finished 6th in the Prem. Had earned it.. But a combination of the complexity and occultc nature of the Europa fixtures, not really feeling the Ommmmm, and a nagging suspicion that the real SCFC's fortunes had become inextricably linked and somewhat inversely proportional to the efforts of the demi-hero{ion{e}s of EEFC. And furthermore the albeit mental side of the 'game' was throwing up too many injuries... all meant, notwithstanding some reservations, I decided to call the roll of the dice, turn of the cards, roll of the dice, a day. For now.
UIMS
Best wishes and recouperations.

Well put sir and I concur with your comments entirely. I think visitations of good will and the bearing of fine gifts is entirely in order. Get better asap murph and think of me wrapping up a celebratory ball bearing in your honour. Chuffed. Well thank ee koinly, Chuff, and I shall look forward to the arrival of the fine gifts! The EEFC team hasn't half been knocked about this last few months. I wonder if Cheesy's completely off the maggots yet? Apart from my own hospitalization back in April I've been treating my body as a temple, albeit an ancient Aztec one minus the gold artefacts. So on that basis alone I'm fit for anything I reckon and my well worn hat is certainly in the ring should the boss come calling. Keep yourself well murph.

Welcome back m'lady. Great to hear you're on the mend. And I mean that from the heart of my bottom.
I was only thinking last night that you'd been quiet for a long time. I was wondering too if you were in foreign climes, maybe touring the world with a troupe of aristocratic thespian types.
Most sad to hear about your current imbibing preferences. Tea - bleurgh. As a wedding anniversary present yesterday, I gave Mrs Q a pair of gin goblets. I hadn't realised how bl00dy enormous they were. A kids' paddling pool holds nothing to these bu99ers. I swear it took a full bottle poured in just to make it look like there was anything in them. Anyway, when you feel fully recovered and if you find yourself in these northern climes, there's a promise that you can share in a tipple or two from them with Mrs Q. You may have to bring your own gin tanker to help fill them, though.

Oh, ta ever so, JD. No, I'm afraid it wasn't anything enjoyable! More than anything I'm relieved to be back on my feet (literally) after a week of being unable to walk. And I'm still off the cool, refreshing stuff - I just don't fancy it - but if I'm ever in your neck of the woods and back on the sauce I'll definitely take you up on your very, very kind offer - thank you!

I wonder if we could keep the team playing by having a caretaker/Manager while Cheesy decides????? Whaddaya think of the idea?

You've just reminded me of yesterday's chuckle on Radio 2. Presenter talking to traffic girl about stuffing and saying that back in the day it was just sage and onion but now it's gone all fancy. She contradicts him and says that the fancy recipes have always been around but they're just more popular now. She then goes on to say, quote "I love a good stuffing" ..... after a few recovery seconds of silence and subdued laughter he says "I can't believe you've just said that, I think we'll leave that thought there"

Are you still going back for more treatment? --- If you have to (perchance) go for a check-up on the same day I have to go for another endoscopy once-over and general oil change, etc., in about 4-6 weeks' time we can have a cup of char together in the cafe! After having been unable to walk (or do much else) for a week I'm glad to be back on my feet now. I still can't fancy even the idea of a glass of 'something refreshing', though, or even anything like an OJ or coke, etc.

Now then, just back from holibobs (two weeks in Krakow) and catching up on the important things I've missed. Like the Oatie, and whether Murph is back on the sauce yet.
Q1) Is Murph Towers anywhere near this alleged gin tanker crash?
Q2) Have police said anything about stingers being laid across the M6 and a huge pipeline leading from the verge in the direction of Murph Towers?
Q3) Less tongue-in-cheek, are you all fit and well now? Or at least a good distance down the road to recovery?
Suppling in Krakow was a very pleasant experience. The people, the buildings, and most especially the prices. Although spirits on offer were largely fruit vodkas and very little available in the way of gin.
In the translated words of a local Cracovian: "We conna get much gin ere, Duck. Costs too much to import as M'Lady Murph sups so much of wots produced in Ingleesland."

On hols in sunny Kos at the moment (back home Wednesday tea-time) and the local "gin" on offer would perhaps best be used as paint thinners or something you'd use instead of WD40 - it certainly isn't suitable for the lady wife, and no doubt Murph would find it pretty unacceptable as well.

Fostoff, welcome back JD Ah! Krakow, you say, yes, I know it well, having spent time there + Warsaw in November 2006 and switched, for the duration, to glasses of the Russian stuff - and divine it was, too, as was the food, especially those deee-lish little Pierogi dumplingette things they do so well. Got loads of recipes for them since the trip but haven't tried making them yet. Nice to know that the locals still remember one's visit, btw! Did you go to the National Museum and see the fab LdV painting 'Lady with an Ermine'? Knocks spots off the poxy Mona Lisa (which I've always hated). No, the tanker crash and spill was close to Js 19 & 20, so well away from Château Murph and just as well because you know what Mellors is like and he would have been apoplectic if the spillage had reached his long bottom herbaceous border, or even any of his shorter top ones, or run into any of the ponds... ...but I am highly impressed by your stingers tip so will ask the CM rangers to order the kit & reserve the idea for possible future deployment. Nice one. Right then, the main event - the EE footie - with you and Dees both in foreign countries (and actually Chuff too, if you want to look at it that way) - plus the boss (AKA the expert and our leader) still on crutches and Yours Truly still extremely wonky, so both still 'hors de combat' - and me still off the sauce - (that's the psychology of a seriously nasty run-in with two ulcers for you) - all training seshes have been suspended UFN. However I do have it on good authority that the boss is keeping a careful eye on the situation and sussing who of the regulars is fit, so hopefully things will look up soon. Let's watch this space, team! Rah rah rah!

However I do have it on good authority that the boss is keeping a careful eye on the situation and sussing who of the regulars is fit, so hopefully things will look up soon. Let's watch this space, team! Rah rah rah! Thanks Murph. I can pronounce myself as unfit as ever (how do you pull a muscle in your buttocks whilst asleep on an airplane??? Actually could have been the jolt when I woke up and saw how many little bottles of champers that Mrs Q had necked in the hour I'd been asleep). However, I'm available for the team as ever, if called upon in due course.
We didn't get to the national museum, but it's on the list for next time as Mrs Q wants to go again in May next year. And the opera too - we were staying very near there on the north edge of the city and the modern opera building looks amazing. Aside from our two trips to Kenya, we both thought it the best holiday we've ever been on.
Pierogi - yum yum. Marvellous they were, expecially when accompanied with their sweet gherkins and a glass or two of Okocim. We found a great little back-street cafe in the ghetto area. Wandering around, we noticed lots of Poles going in & thought that if the locals went there, it must be good. Family-run, as most of their restaurants & cafes are. Daughter serving, Mama in the kitchen, Grandma surveying all with a wary eye. We ordered an assortment of pierogi and Grandma disappeared into the kitchen - they were her realm and nobody else was allowed to make them. And they were superb. My comment to the daughter that her grandmother was a genius went down very well, especially when she translated it to her grandmother. Free shots of fruit vodka all round (at 11am !!!!).
Since our return, we've found a little Polish shop just up the road from us that sells 10 different brands of gherkins and a similar variety of frozen pierogi. Not quite as good as freshly made ones, but still very nice. They also sell a variety of flavoured vodkas at what are virtually Polish prices .... I've had a brain like cotton wool every morning since ...
Up the Mighty EEFC (in abeyance). And it's great news to hear that Mellors' long botttom is in fine fettle.

Extra training coming along nicely, running along the beach barefoot with the wind in the hair. Chariots of Fire watch out!!. Well for rice cake don't go treading on any broken seashells or discarded syringes, Chuff, because at this rate the EEFC team are coming close to monopolising the entire NHS's supply of crutches.
