Fantastically tense encounter against the Toffeemen from the Wast. EEFC 1v0 up at half time {Felonious}, nothing in it possession wise. Second half despite controlling the game {edging second half possession}, a MSal tap in from a punt up field from Bath, the visitors scored two late goals to level the tie. A fantastic midfield display {marshalled, no doubt, by Dees.} But we switched off. EEFC 2 v 2 Everton
Possession: 55/45% EEFC corners 2 fh/5sh {scored none}. Half Time EEFC 1 v 0 Everton EEFC scorer: Felonious solo worldy. No changes h/t. EEFC second half scorer: Msal tap in assisted by Bath. Ratings: Bath 7 Northy 8 HarryB 6 Dees{tc} 7 Felonious 8 Quietman 9 Pearo 9 Chuffed 8 Assassin 8 MSal 7 Murphs 6 Mom: sponsored by Gemini Clothing Co., Piccadilly, Hangley, joint winners Quietman and Pearo, both rated 9. Decent point. Upwards and omwards. UIMS

Good performance but disappointing result in the end. I think we thought we had the game won at 2-0 up with just over 10 minutes to go. Superb goal from Felonious, their defence and goalie never moved until it was too late and it was in the net. Special mention for Chuffed who made some great "runs" down their wing even with his broken hip, but his zimmer frame did unfortunately get in the way when we were defending their corners.
Handing the captain's armband over for the next game.

Not a bad point I suppose but we should have done better at the end and kept all three... hang on, where have I heard that before 🤔
Still, we didn’t lose so that’s a positive.
Onwards...

Battling through pain is a trademark of my game it provides inspiration and motivation. Great game pity we couldn't cling on to all three. We're scoring some beauts at the moment, confidence is there for all to see let's keep up the good work.

Clearly I flourished under the leadership of the mighty D. Not sure what coaching manual it's from, but his encouraging shouts of " 'av eeeem" definitely helped. Two lates goals conceded to end up drawing, that's paralleling the real world all too closely.
I'll let Pearo take up Gemini's clothing coupon. All sounds a bit too cosmoplitan for me. I favour the head-to-toe black look. Or, if it's the opposition, black and blue.

At a loose end and stuck in a rather unusual situation with a local Town Cryer and former SCFC defender (who was told to kick Pele, and ended up in the Baseball Gnd Paddock trying to fulfill his stifling duties on Dave Mackay of 'aim for his jockstrap'.) It's a good time to catch up on the missed games to bring us up to date in our push for Europe.
Got the cards and die and will seruptisiously complete the outstanding fixtures... against 'celebrity' opposition.

No mate I've been in hospital for over a week. Lying between Micky B and a local town cryer. Got the card school going and slipped in a game or two of the 'roll of the dice, turn of the cards'... I'll report the results later. I could also spam the board with much insider talk... but a lot of it half a century old. Been in stitches over tales of Peter Dobing. Breakfast now.

Only played 3 games last night, hopefully another 5 later which will leave us in sync with just two games remaining (Crystal Palace at home, and the final game to close the season at Old Trafford). We're poised at 7th and closing the gap between us and Chelsea. Hoping to be released middle of next week if they don't kick me out beforehand. I'm causing some consternation causing disruption to hospital routines.. I've been invoking the Convention of Human Rights because they fail to serve tea at the same time as the toast in the morning. We're all refusing to give samples etc until it's sorted... Support The Cold Toast Five....

Me, definitely today I've had a big kick off this morning. The Town Cryer is short of breath and MB is a real gent. There are five of us in this bay, very much 'Only When I Laugh'. Some great tales about Waddo, 'that bloody back pass', 'good old Harry Burrows', battles with Osgood, marking Pele on a trip to America and all sorts of stuff.... told with an easy non boastful air.. He really didn't want to go to Everton, and confirmed Jimmy G wanted to stay too....

The Stoke team he's talking about is also my favourite Stoke team of all time although the early Pulis team is up there with it. I can't look at the Conroys, Smiths, etc to this day without it putting a smile on my face

It's making the stay almost bearable... talked us through the backpass.. said he just didn't see Chris Garland hiding behind Smithy. Kind of dismissed it saying he knew he could get away with it with Banksy in nets. Full of praise for Gordon, genuine affection. Banksy had a few of them staying over after training, shooting practice and trying to dribble past him etc. Him and Smithy mainly. Interesting that MB said his wife earned more on the Mitch than he did. He bought a house/borrowed money on Birks Street, imagine that today.

I was lucky enough to be 9 years old when England won the World Cup so Banks was a hero of mine before he came to Stoke that was the icing on the cake.
It was a proper team with the right amount of steel and flair and a fantastic manager who put it all together. Should have won the bloody league with it and certainly the FA Cup.

You owd git. Just been laughing about recording 'We'll Be With You'... saying they fuelled the players up with booze in order to get them in the mood.. recording it at Hatch and Trent's in Crystal Palace. I'd much prefer to be well but watching Burnley Man City with a bit of a legend (in pyjamas) is pretty mint.

Are the plants, amphibians and the general menagerie being looked after and have you got a mate to look in on the missus?
