Jarvis Cocker just played a track from Mark Lanegan Bank from the Park Stage friday, sounded great. Keep hearing good things about Blossoms {mate saw them supporting Stone Roses at Wembley}. Blossoms are pretty decent mate,my teenage step daughter is into them and some of their tunes I hear from her bedroom are very good.

Mark Lanegan's set is on my list to watch. Can't get into Blossoms, really tight band and great vocals but I just find it all a bit meh. Saw the Stone Roses in Leeds on Wednesday and they were shockingly bad.

Trying to decide whether to watch Barry Gibb or Frank Turner, leaning towards Barry Gibb but I've got a feeling I'll probably end up regretting it. Thought the same about Lionel Ritchie in the same slot a couple of years ago though and he turned in a brilliant performance. Gibb it is ... for now. It's one of my favourite slots. Kenny Rogers was brilliant the other year The problem is sometimes the crowd hasn't a clue Barry Gibb is doing a good job though

Getting ready to watch Ed Sheeran later with my 7 year old daughter. She's a big fan , so i'm going to let her stay up late to watch it. Not my cup of tea , but he's very talented....
Enjoying Barry Gibb....It must be hard performing by himself, but he's getting more relaxed with every song. He looked a little overwhelmed at the beginning but he's loving it now. ๐

It ha been poignant that there have been so many artists of 15+ & more yrs. many not even Brits. It's a far cry from Glasnost used to be. Are we seeing the dieing embers of a musical culture.

Lost interest in The Killers a while ago now but fair play, they smashed it today. Brought me back to my school days with the older hits (showing my lack of age there)

I'm just waiting for London Grammar to come on on the Peel stage, followed by Metronomy. Biffy are currently on the main stage, to be followed by Ed Sheeran. Unless I've misunderstood your point?

Modern British music is thriving & there are top notch bands all over the shop. You're just not looking hard enough... Apparently.

I'm obviously listening to too much R4 That said, I did listen to Ed Shearan on R4s DIDs & was underwhelmed, but he is just a kid. Don't rate his music, mind

No . zero ...nil points ...Gemini .... Suffice to say , that I prefer the Eurovision . Infact I would pay twice the admission price to sit at home in my armchair whilst listening to Radio 4 .
