It's difficult to see how anyone - whether you are pro or anti-Brexit - can support the suspension of British democracy in order to get Brexit done. If they were thinking of doing the same for any other Brexit outcome - be it rescinding article 50, having a second referendum, or forcing through a withdrawal agreement - I would think exactly the same. Suspending democracy for a few weeks to implement some of your more unpopular policies is the actions of a part-time dictator.

Not particularly a Boris fan but I can't think of anyone doing a better job at the moment. Corbyn ? Swinson? Possibly Farage could.

Boris wants to break into the US market, but no deal within a year a least.
Is this the same market that Trump keeps saying should be supplied from within? The market he's trying to shut China out of?.... Good luck Bojo.
What a major fuck up.
All our hopes based on a deal with the US. Laughable.

Going into trade deals with the World when we’ve just announced that we’re desperate.
Oh & let’s not forget we’re £@#&!n useless at it.
It’s like buying a house & telling the vendor that you’re desperate to buy & have no alternatives, Oh & BTW will you knock £40k off the asking price!

Also showed at the G7 that he has no balls when it comes to face to face discussions. The EU turning round to trump and telling him they'll retaliate if he puts tariffs on french wine. That's what I want to see. A united front. We'll soon see if Trump has the will to fight both China and the EU in a trade war. Bring on the 'fair' digital tax EU-wide.

Sssh, don't mention immigration they want it to become a hate crime and a criminal offence I'd seen that earlier Northy. Unbelievable. The fella announcing it looks sheepish and unconvinced. Mind you it just continues to confirm the centrist control and the closing down of any opposition to the project....no questioning allowed, let alone opposition.

Sssh, don't mention immigration they want it to become a hate crime and a criminal offence Here you go. Put the whole article up. Don’t hide it behind a link. So hate speech is becoming mainstream. No £@#&!n $#!t Sherlock 🕵️♂️ GENEVA (AFP) - UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres on Monday (Feb 25) launched a new global strategy to combat hate speech, a growing scourge he said has "poisoned" debate on crucial challenges like migration. Guterres announced the effort, which will be led by his special adviser on genocide prevention Adama Dieng, at the UN Human Rights Council. "Hate is moving into the mainstream - in liberal democracies and authoritarian systems alike," he said in a speech at the opening of the council's 40th session. "Some major political parties and leaders are cutting and pasting ideas from the fringes into their own propaganda and electoral campaigns," he added. Governments across the world have watched with concern as racist and other hate speech have coarsened the political climate. France and Germany have raised particular alarm in recent weeks over resurgent anti-Semitism. Guterres targeted his rebuke at the vast campaign he said was mobilised against the UN's Global Compact on Migration, a non-binding text that aimed to set out best practices for managing refugee and migrant flows. "We have seen how the debate on human mobility, for example, has been poisoned with false narratives linking refugees and migrants to terrorism and scapegoating them for many of society's ills," Guterres said. He condemned "an insidious campaign sought to drown the Global Compact on Migration in a flood of lies about the nature and scope of the agreement". The UN chief noted that the campaign "failed". But 17 countries either abstained or voted against the compact at the General Assembly in December and debate over the text fuelled bitter political debate especially in Europe. Guterres said Dieng, a Senegalese lawyer and veteran UN diplomat, will "define a system-wide strategy and present a global plan of action" to combat hate speech.

It was tiny & I don’t know if it was taken out of context. It’s sounded like preliminary talks. The truth is that the world is getting polarised & the right are becoming more prevalent. It’s becoming normalised.

Did you listen to the video they want 'to criminalise migration speech, criticism of migration will become a criminal offence' Whatever happened to Free Speech ? Here's a longer version. He actually links it to hate speech and how the idea is to stop far right groups using migration hate as a propaganda tool. He mentions Tommy Robinson as well. But yeah, if you support that far right populist bullshit then not much we can really say.

I'm not worried in the slightest. Brexit will only inconvenience me a little. I can't say the same for anyone or any business that is importing or exporting goods and services. No positives to leaving the EU and going it alone. Vis Unita Fortior 5.4m businesses in the UK, 200k trade within EU, I think they will manage to fill in a few forms like they do with the rest of the world. Latest forecasts saying impact on gdp of no deal is 0.5% for uk and germany, 5%+ for little Leo. The 0.5% isnt much more than a roundings difference on the initial gdp figures against the final figures they announce.
