Apologies for overlooking your question. I didn't vote Tory at the last election. I voted UKIP. Not that I have always voted right wing. In the 70s I was a young Liberal, a party member, involved in raising finance and posting leaflets through doors, etc. I was very much in favour of joining the Common Market as it was called. I has raging rows with my Tory father who maintained "You cannot have economic union without political union. You mark my words we will come to regret it when Europe rules this country." Subsequently I left the Liberals due to their duplicity, Thorpe, etc. and my father turned left wing, he was so anti Europe and agreed with Benn. Over the subsequent 40 + years my opinion on Europe has turned 180 degrees. 40 + years in industry during which I worked for French and Dutch and served on a European committee has made me realise how right my Dad was. I'd love to know how many hard core Brexiteers (on this messageboard) have voted Mrs May into power. No

All these political games are beginning to make my head hurt. With 10 days left what do we think will happen to Brexit 1 - Leave with no deal in 10 days 2 - Get May's deal voted through with a short extension 3 - Get a long extension (ie over 12 months) 4 - Cancel Brexit 5 - None of the above 4 / 3 or another referendum to see if we get it right next time then another at infinitum until we do, whichever democracy will be the loser, lions led by donkeys springs too mind.

Catching up on the news. If I were the EU I would just fuck us off, no extension. We are just wasting their time now. 10 days from Bexit and we don't have a scooby what we want to do

Yes, quite apart from all the money wasted on preparing for brexit the reputational damage done to our country is on a scale its impossible to even begin to assess. The whole charade has been a breath taking mistake of historic proportion.

Yes, all achieved inside the EU, it won't have escaped your attention we haven't left yet. Why throw away the very economic model on which our entire financial system and prosperity is built?

You're wrong. The main reason we have done OK on employment is because we have control of our own currency and the £ is a world trading currency.

Because whilst that economic model might have worked in the past it is becoming irrelevant because most global growth in the future will come from outside the Eurozone.

Well The PM is going to ask for a delay.
Only thing is it ain't clear for how long and for what specific purpose.
Seeing as the EU, quite reasonably, want to know precise answers to these questions (the latter determine the former of course), i think they may be perplexed.
I wonder how this delay will play out over the coming days.

EU won't agree a long delay They might agree to 30June as suggested but more likely to 23rd May I.e. the day European elections are due. Or possibly no delay at all.

It is what happens when a complex question is put to a yes /no vote, the EU is not perfect and in need of reform but at least it offers a degree of stability where we are heading is in my opinion not what this country or Europe needs or deserves

So what's happening in Italy and Spain and Greece with this fabulous economic model? And there is your answer. Every organisation in the world has haves and haves not. Look at the premier league. Still structured to keep the big teams on top. The EU is no different. Remainers speak of the compromise of a reformed EU. The EU Will not reform as the premier league will not give one of their champions league spots to the fa cup winners. You accept the status quo or leave. As we are supposed to be doing. This whole mess stems from the whole of parliament stalling on what they were supposed to do.
