I'll try again after being a daft cunt & posting it on the football side of the forum! To save me re-typing all the bollocks I put last time, have you stumbled across any tunes on Youtube that have a 'views' total either way higher or lower than you expected? I'm not talking about 'rare' performances on some fan account or owt, I mean 'proper' songs by 'proper' bands on 'proper' accounts. Anyroad, I'll kick us off with these two by Guns 'N' Roses Over 485 Million views! And this one has over 797 million! Don't get me wrong, GnR were a big band in their day, but those viewing figures seem mental.

This is a classic example of what I mean...
'Zombie' by The Cranberries. Not the most famous song & far from the most famous band ever... Infact I bet most people have never heard of them.
How many views? Couple of hundred thousand at the most surely? Nope, over 526 million views!

To give the above two posts a bit of context, here is Supersonic by Oasis.
The first single of, whether you like them or not, one of the biggest bands in British music history. Unyet this has got 'only' 17 million views.

It's bizarre but I think sometimes it depends whether they get played in major films or major series and therefore get picked up by the current generation.
I know you've not asked for this type of song but this is one of my faves from the last few years. Plugged on radio 2 a while back by Olivia Colman for whom she babysits. It's 5,000 hits if sung by Rose Betts or one billion if sung by Adele.

Here's another 'low' example again by Oasis. (Well, I don't think it's that low really, it's most probably a 'normal' views amount!) Live Forever, one of their best songs, it's got barely 7 million views! It's not far off that for every one person that watches this video, one hundred people are watching the fucking Cranberries! That's mental!

Sticking with REM - Who were a fucking massive band in the 90's! One of their best songs, Daysleeper, on their official Youtube channel has barely scrapped past one million views! What? How? I don't understand how such a classic song from a monster band can have so few views

Surprised there's only been two and a half thousand Stoke fans who've accidentally clicked on this.
More folk should view Renaldo & the Loaf imo.

I'm guessing that it's do with the 'American' factor.
Wonderwall went top 10 in the US but I don't think any of their other singles got anywhere near it and over there they are seen as a bit of a one hit wonder.
Low and behold ... Wonderwall has got nearly 200 million views on youtube.
As for R.E.M. Losing My Religion was definitely their biggest hit in the US, it went top five, whereas Everybody Hurts barely scraped into the top 30.
The USA is king when it comes to youtube plays I think.
