It's ridiculous, no need for it. They're just making rules for rules' sake now

Does this mean barca will now have to have a plain back? Thought not!

Does this mean barca will now have to have a plain back? Thought not! It's about legibility. Barcelona use yellow numbers on a dark coloured pattern so it is legible. What colour should we use? Black or white numbers won't work, neither will red or blue or gold or pink... Hence the solid block of colour.

I can put up with the crap back for the players but surely there's no reason to replicate it on the replicas. Must lose a fortune in lost sales.

I blame Atkinson he probably moaned to the FA that he was having trouble booking our players fast enough

Instead of a block of colour, which TBH looks pretty naff why can't we use numbers with contrasting outline - this is surely clear enough for the most myopic ref?

As long as they've got rid of that embarassing white square on the shirt, they can play in pink for me I went in to the shop on Saturday to buy 2 shirts for my kids . They didn't have enough red letters to put their names on the back . The lad told me they probably won't be using red letters next season so maybe you will get your wish

Unfortunately that white panel is here to stay. Why?? Other stripey teams don't have large panels. Edit - just checked Sunderland and Hull official club shops online. No sign of any sort of a panel on the shirts they are selling. With you on this, March. That white panel looks tacky and amateurish.

I struggle to see the significance of this??? From an officials point of view, if a foul has been committed, surely you don't need to have the name and number of a player on full display to realise it's a foul?????? Tv commentators have never had problems in the past recognising a player when commentating without having to refer to their shirts to see who it is......and if they did, they're surely in the wrong job??? As for fans.....if you can't recognise your own players without looking for their names and numbers first....then fuck off us the Vale!!!

Never been a problem for us, but I'm in Sheffield now and have been to the odd game at Bramall Lane, and the clash between their home kit and the numbers is actually quite annoying. Scarily seen better football played there then I have in my trips to SOT this season

Pathetic actually! Borderline ridiculous!

Decent them pair are, it's a shame that we wouldn't/couldn't have either of them though. We couldn't have a red and white away shirt and we wouldn't have Vale colours.

New Balance for the home kit and Macron for the away kit? Weird!
