Biggest thing that pisses me off. 2 time word champion instead of TWICE and Plays for the Scotland Team instead of the Scotish team ffs why don't. we just become anther star on their flag. Put some gas in yer tank and mosey on down the road tonite. Bloody swamp men the lot of them. "We've won it two times, we've won it two times... the Autoglass Trophy..." Artistic licence etc.

"Shoot the breeze" "Take a rain check" wtf? I know quite a few of us voted for Brexit (myself included) but perhaps one of the unintended consequences may be an even closer alliance with the USA and the further bastardisation of our language. It's only a matter of time. Hey look here slick, if y'all didn't want it bastardized, y'all shouldn't have been spreading it around the world in the first place. y'all = you all all y'all - plural of y'all Then there's the Pennsylvania "yinz/y'ins" thing that even we over here cringe at.

Then there's the Pennsylvania "yinz/y'ins" thing that even we over here cringe at. Fourteen chromosome humanoid from the hills of PA. It drives a pickup and wears camo. Drinks shine for breakfast.

Why does it bother people as long as they understand what they mean?

Why do they call petrol 'gas' when it's a liquid ? Short for gasoline at a guess. Still not right though. Edit: as Bish has already pointed out....oops.

The gallon one is weird, 16floz to the pint as opposed to 20 here That means a US gallon is 6.4 pints.........no wonder it's cheaper over there

Why does it bother people as long as they understand what they mean? I can live with Americans speaking to each other in any way they want to. I can't abide English people using Americanisms bit like people from no where near London trying to be Cockney

It's about standards, man! Standards. Do such things as standards still exist ? Standards are going very strong at the moment, the current height of those standards however is challenged...
