Neither did he give his team mates a kick. Plus he was daydreaming for the goal. The manager shouldn't be asking players to do jobs they can't do. Ryan effectively played as a full back last night with Bruno as the central pin of the back 4. It was ludicrous. The fact that Ryan made such a good fist of it is testament to his ability. There weakest players are the two full backs, so we opted to play Pieters and Diouf wide. It was a crazy starting line up that actually looked like it could work simply because they were utter shite. Once they scored, we introduced a bloke who should be retiring, yet has a new contract, and we never ever looked like we would get anything out of the game. We have a stupid manager and we've arguably got the thickest set of players known to man. The free kicks we were giving away in 6 minutes of stoppage time were totally brain dead. I agree with all of that but the facts are Ryan didn't play well enough with the ball.

What was bewildering was that he stopped when there was still so much space in front of him and passed sideways or backwards. Must be a lack of belief once he gets over the half way line. He did this at least 3 times that I can recall

You are asking a 6ft 6" centre half to do the job of a full back. It isn't and never was going to happen.

To not play our two best players in their natural positions against the two worst full backs in the league was absolutely ridiculous.

Went the game
-Bizarre XI, yet another change of formation that doesn't suit our best players -Sobhi dropped for no reason -Crap subs, too late and too wrong -General feeling he doesn't know what to do to change things
Only saving grace from his point of view is he couldn't do anything about Arnie fluffing his lines
1/10
