The last time stoke city beat a team currently in the top half of the premier league in any competition was December 2015.
Shocking.

Shows how wank we now are. We are definitely not a top 10 team anymore and if by a miracle we do scrape top 10 this season then it will only be because all the other teams have just had a wank seasons too!

You cañ't have it both ways. If we finish in the top ten then we are a top ten team. If other teams finish below us then they are worse than us over the season. Do I think we will finish in the top ten? No.

So this stat is basically a load of shit that has been worded in a way that it means we have to ignore all the top-half teams we have beat, so that it gives us a chance to say we haven't beat one for two years?

Watford were in the top half of the table when we beat them, TWICE, this season. CURRENTLY in the top half David Statistics are great aren't they. They can be presented in a way that could prove anything you like. Each season we play 38 games. We play each team twice. You get points for wins and draws and no points for losses. Each team in the league players every other team twice. At the end of the season, the team with the most points wins the league. Every other team finishes in a league position determined by having more points than the team below them. Those with the least number of points get relegated. Everyone else finishes in between first and last based on the number of points they gather from the 38 league games that they play. Invariably, come the end of the season, you finish up with a league position and points haul that your form and quality merits. All other statistics are irrelevant, including which team is positioned where when you happen to take points off them. In previous seasons, we've done great against teams above us and lost when we'd least expect to against teams around us or below us. The fact we've not done that this season is a massive improvement

The win being against Fulham. The only league Fulham game I've missed in about 20 years and the only time we've won I think.

The last time stoke city beat a team currently in the top half of the premier league in any competition was December 2015. Shocking. If we're saying "any competition", we won at Liverpool in the League Cup semi-final over 120 minutes in January 2016 (before the penalties ) So not quite so bad then ....

The stat is quite simple to understand.
December 2015 was the last time we won against a side CURRENTLY in the top half. We've beaten sides who were in the top half at that time, but that's different.
Essentially put we've haven't beaten a top side, Everton, West Brom or Southampton since December 2015.

I dont care much for statistics
The problem is that when i watch the team play, the spectacle (😳) on offer is certainly not up to ghe desired standard
The lack of pace is shocking, we create next to nothing

So....if it's currently in the top half then the stat is bollocks as chelsea last season. If it's top half at the time of playing it's also wrong due to the games mentioned above. Cracking OP and thread this has turned into then How is it not in the shitbin already? Fuck it, i'm off to start a "Haven't beaten any side in the Prem since the last time we beat one" thread....Hughes out!
