Kicked the ball out a lot,if memory serves me right, didn't he? Yes he did. Played at left back and regularly used to slice the ball out of play when under no pressure.

He played in the 78/79 promotion season. Once scored a pearler v Blackburn. If it had been Charlie Adam you'd have known it was deliberate. I'm still a bit sceptical that it wasn't a panic stricken clearance that went badly wrong. One of those goals where you didn't know which to do first, laugh or celebrate. I'm probably being a bit cruel. if it was meant as a shot then it was one of the best goals I've seen a Stoke player score.

Tall, blonde lad, played left back but looked like he could do a job at CB. I think he was tried there once and proved he was definitely a LB.

Name pops up on here every year and I'm sure I've said it before but Geoff reads this MB and occasionally posts I think.

Yes that's right, he would try to launch the ball up field but instead just shank it in to the paddock. I always thought football wasn't really the game for him.

Decent enough player in the Div.2 promotion team but out of his depth in Div.1. I think he eventually moved on to Leicester where he played centre-back for a couple of seasons. Maybe ended up back at Brum?

This from wiki: After retiring from the game, Scott took a degree in business studies and worked in the telecommunications industry. He returned to football when appointed secretary of the Stoke City Old Boys Association, and became chief executive of Xpro, an organisation supporting the heath and welfare of former professional footballers For your delectation here is the blonde bombshell: Then: and Now:

I think he was replaced in the Stoke side by Iain Munro from St Mirren. Decent left-back ...

Came across as a bit of a 'broken' man on the programme. Nice couple of motors on the drive though.
Shame, but back in his day they weren't earning the mega bucks the current prima donna's get, so no option once the boots were hung up other than to look for gainful employment to get by, and if Football is all you have ever known, that isn't an easy task.

He played in the 78/79 promotion season. Once scored a pearler v Blackburn. God what a weird game..If I remember right it was 0-0 at half time and ended up 4-2. As well as Scott's cross/shot that flew in I think Crooks got a hat trick..one of which flew in off his face after an attempted clearance and he was spark out for about 5 minutes after.

I remember him. He was a bit crap. Was OK at Divion 2 level and certainly an improvement on Alec Lindsay, who was so far over the hill he was in the early stages of fossilisation ....

My main memory of him (for some reason) is doing those crosses into Foxy they always used to do in the warm up.
He would knock them in from the corner of where the Boothen End met the Boothen paddock, Foxy would catch them and bowl them back to him.
Don't have any strong memories of him in matches.
