Absolutely dire penalty. The kind of shitness lots of Stokies expected from him before he left us and they now talk as if he is Zidane. Nzonzi is great, but what the hell are they doing having him take the penalty? Do they really not have anyone more obviously suitable?

There is a very real possibility that by this time tomorrow night Leicester will be the sole English representatives left in the Champions League. Given everything that has gone before this season there's something just ever so slightly "off" about that. Slightly "off" ??? The way they ripped off businesses and got away with non payments, whilst other clubs struggle or worse, go to the wall really doesn't sit well with me. Just a shithouse club in my eyes and NO it's not jealousy.

I was reading about Ed Sheeran's record in the charts today and how there is calls to change the rules now so something similar couldn't happen again. Made me think how much folk hate others having any kind of glorious success.
Sadly, some of the comments about Leicester and Vardy here have only confirmed everything.

He certainly did not deserve the treatment he got from the club or team. I have lost ALL the respect I had for that team and am absolutely gutted they went through tonight,

Let them waste more energy on the champions league Theyre not gonna win it anyway Like they weren't going to win the League? A different story altogether The FA created the leicester fairy tale to fuel even more international interest ( which means more money flowing in) in the EPL

A lot of people resent the way Vardy exaggerated his reaction to Nasris head BUT I tell you one thing I hope our players would have the presence of mind to do the same thing. I don't - I'd cringe. Then when I'd finished cringing I'd reevaluate my opinion of the player in question to a lower level than before. If you're gonna condone players of your own that flagrantly look to con refs then as far as I'm concerned you formally withdraw your right to complain about any poor refereeing decisions that go against you.

I've never liked Leicester. Never wanted them to win the league. Would've much preferred Spurs every day. But after this Claudio debacle, I hope they disentegrate. I hope they draw Barca. I then hope Messi, Suarez and Neymar maul the bastards by 15. They are everything I despise about football. The loyalty, diminished. The atmosphere, replaced by plastic clappers. I keep asking myself, how can this lot be the Champions of our country? Disgusting. RIP Claudio. It feels like your dead. They've forgotten all about you, the heartless, plastic "supporters".

No, we just don't like cheats ( and I certainly wouldn't want a Stoke player to stoop to that level) or clubs who get shut of a book who's done so well for them. They even looking down now, on which other clubs in tournament aren't who they want to play next, as if they have the stature of some of those clubs.

Maybe in one of the cup shootouts we won? I'm thinking Birmingham but can't be bothered to check. Penalties are weird. You have strikers who you wouldn't trust in a million years with one and left backs who score them with their eyes closed.

I understand where you are coming from (do what it takes), but I'd rather win/lose properly than win like a douche. Diving, etc. irritates the hell out of me, even when we do it...the amount of times Shaq could have kept running and kept the pressure on rather than hope for a call chaps my ass... But I'm new to this sport and maybe don't fully appreciate such things yet, although I'm fairly certain I never will.

Reigning champions making a right fucked up title defence, given no chance of winning the European Cup, change of manager in February, still going strong in Europe sounds like 1982!

No you don't. My gripe is refs often won't give a foul unless the player goes down. Thierry Henry said once a ref actually told him if he doesn't go down it won't get given. I don't mean going down without contact. I mean making sure you get an advantage you're often entitled to. Would the ref have sent Nasri off if Vardy hadn't exaggerated? It was a card offence but wouldn't have been given.

It was a card offence but wouldn't have been given. It's questionable whether he even touched him beyond brushing his brow. Far too much emphasis in cards and sendings off in the modern game - including the likes if brandishing imaginary ones. It's a contact sport not all contact is either a foul or a disciplinary offence yet 90% of the analysis at the end of every game would suggest otherwise. It's frankly tedious and part of the reason why over recent years I've taken to watching other sports st the expense of football.

N'Zonzi is fantastic and is sorely missed still. Leicester in the Quarters is quite hilarious when you consider our 'good' English sides are about as effective in Europe as a pound note Also, Ranieri's sacking looks better and better by the game
