I feel that I need to respond to the criticism made about me on the "Wizards of Drivel" (WoD) podcast. Their fawning over the MCFC Academy was bordering on "get a room" territory!! Seriously though, to listen to these fellas, Stoke U18s were lucky to even be on the same pitch as Manchester City U18s. This I simply cannot agree with. Both teams are Category 1 Academies having earned their respective Semi-Final places on merit. If you apply the same principle as the guys on the "WoD" podcast to this weekend's first team match versus Chelsea, should anyone bother to turn up? Or shall we get in their faces, give them a game & should Stoke happen to lose the match (hopefully not), we all go home knowing that we've given everything in which to obtain a result?? Hi Peace, thanks for listening. I appreciate that we were dismissive of your initial comments (because I felt they were over the top), and so it's fair enough that you have a right to reply. In fact, if you want to email us with your view we promise to give it a hearing on the next episode - can't promise we'll agree with it but we'll put your view across. wizardsofdrivelpodcast@gmail.com - or would mind us reading this post? Yeah, we did fawn over the Man City set-up, but I feel like that was fair enough given that I've never seen anything like that before. I don't buy your argument with regards to not turning up. 1) I feel there's a difference between not turning up and having a bad game/'freezing' on the big occassion 2) I feel there's also a difference between what we ought to expect of Under-18s and those who play the game professionally, in the world's most-watched football league. I fully expect us to give everything against Chelsea, but, if we are thoroughly outclassed - as may well happen - then I won't be slamming the team as you did. I understand your disappointment with Friday night, but I felt the language you used (specifically 'Gutless' and 'passionless') to describe the young lads' performance was a vast over-reaction to a bad night. Feel free to disagree.

Feel free to disagree. Thanks for the reply. I accept I over-reacted. It was indeed a bad night, however, they will undoubtedly learn from this experience &, in a strange kind of way, possibly more so than if they had won? I'll leave this subject now. What's done is done. Good luck with your future podcasts. Cheers. Peace Whether I think you talk bollocks or not can I ask you to stop this fucking back post deleting every 3 or 4 posts you make because you are just making threads unreadable. There are replies on here to posts made by you that no longer exist (other than in the quotes to others posts). It's just ridiculous. Otherwise don't bother. Much Love.

So both semi finals finished 9-2 on aggregate. Little old Stoke got the same battering as pretty massive Spurs. We've done well.
