Radio 5 live late night sports/football discussion mentioned Man City v Stoke in passing. (Apparently there was some other Match tonight in Barcelona) Their summary essentially was that Man City's failure to score or win tonight was down to them making team changes that disrupted their rythmn. Mo mention of Stoke!

Guardiola "We had the chances to win the game" We had more shots on target than you, what's your next round of bollocks? "They defend well, strong and hit long balls to Walters" Ahhh. The long ball nonsense. Well done Pep. Full house. TBF. Both teams had chances to win (Diouf missed a sitter) and we did hoof it up the field quite a bit. So what? We played well, we kept it tight and narrow and never looked in any trouble. The most important thing was, we had a plan and stuck to it.

In fairness I thought SJW did a great hustling job in the second half seemed to get stronger and stronger If GC could pass he'd be worth £30 million If he could produce an accurate cross he'd be worth £25 million

A great performance, a good result. Tremendous individual performances maybe with the exception of Imbula who looked lost when he came on. I think he only contributed twice...losing the ball on each occasion.

so since dubai we have amassed 4 points. just wondering how many points some of our so called fans expected from these three fixtures? i was hoping for 3 spurs-lose[they allways play like barcelona when they play us.mboro-win, man city-lose=with their squad there is no way on earth we should be getting anything from this game. so by my reckoning we are +1 point. take a well earned break lads

We certainly look more solid with Cameron in midfield and Diouf out wide with his work rate and pace helped too.

Mo mention of Stoke! Cundy and Goldstein on TalkSport on the way home bigging Stoke up and telling all the City fans to give Stoke credit for a great performance.

Today, I am very happy to eat my critical words of Ryan over the last 6 months. There was a purpose to his game and that of the defense that leaves one bewildered how they can defend and play so well against a top Man City side and so poorly against Spurs. They need to bottle that ingredient from tonight and feed it to the team before each game and again at half time.

Stupidly, I also questioned Ryan's ability to get back to his best after his back surgery. I needn't have worried too much because last night he looked like the player we've liked and loved (not in a gay way!) for the past eight years or so..

I understand that the last time Man City failed to score at home was 9th May 2015.
Puts the match in context

Was away for a couple days so I recorded the game. Just now got to watch it. Great result. Hardest part was staying away from sports shows and this board so as not to ruin the game for me. Ramadan is definitely the future (guy needs a goal soon), also impressed with both Bards' and Diouf's efforts. And, AND, AND the gift of Bayern Steam Rolling Machine flattening of Arsenal to boot (w/Sanchez laughing)! Great week so far.
