"During the weekend embarrassment at White Hart Lane, BBC pundit Jermaine Jenas wrote in his in-play commentary: "Stoke don't look like they know what they are doing. They are clumsily passing the ball at each other, hoping that someone will do something with it."
Words like that sting, not because they're cruel but because they're true and pretty much sum up how I've felt in many of our games this season."

You keep referring to more without embellishing on it. What is it you think we can do exactly? All we've heard is this is shit and not good enough. What are your realistic goals? I will be brutal and honest Jamo, my expectations are exactly what we have currently, a mid table team that will entertain me for my investment of cash and time, I do not expect to break in to the top 6 or to be in the bottom 3...little old stoke playing in the best(well at least best hyped) league in the world against some of the best players in the world...... But The problem that I have currently is this, If we are to lose to the big boys so what! we are expected to lose and it is no great loss as these games are virtually written off before the season starts, I do though expect us to give a good account of ourselves and lose gracefully by 1 or 2 goals or even scrape a draw for the travelling lunatics that still have hope in their heart of an upset, not go all out to lose and concede 4 on a regular occasion...Palace anyone! I also hope rather than expect that when we play at home against the big boys we can as we often used to under Pulis and have done under Hughes give them the odd bloody nose to give us all something to stand up for when we get to our seat at ice station zebra. I expect us to have some semblance of a cup run, I do not expect to win it but I do expect us to be able to focus our squad to a depth where we will only get knocked out at home to one of the afore mentioned big boys....not at home to Hull or even Wolves who are currently sitting 1 point above relegation places to div 2 I expect us to be fired up and fit on the first day of the season knowing who is going to be our first team choices and compete as a team from the off instead of giving everyone around us an 8 game start I expect the team and staff to compete in pre season games and show the fans that although the games mean fuck all and are nothing more than a footballing experiment, the team actually appreciate the fans loyalty giving up their Saturday and travelling the short journey to Burton to cheer them on. Surely I am not over expecting or wastefully day dreaming with that Jamo, mid tables fine and totally acceptable in this league against these teams for me...I know my place in the pecking order but it is nice to believe and to dream that we too can get the starts to align just like Leicester did as a one off, I don't mind mid table but lets do a stylish mid table instead of this untuned, unpolished, unprofessional, lack lustre could not give a flying fuck type of mid table that gives even the realists like myself an opportunity to moan their sack off Excellent Post!!!!

Whelan was excellent and looked much better with the athleticism of Cameron beside him. The fact you can't see that says more about you than it does Whelan. He was awful today. Bring back Whitehead. What an absolute load of bollocks, having an opinion is fine, but having an opinion that is obviously based on a vendetta against the individual (Whelan) is utter bollocks.

Happy with the win.
Happy with our position in the league.
But there's no disguising that much of our football is tepid - Arnie and Ramadan excepted. The atmosphere tells its own story.
About £55M worth of signings missing from the starting line-up again.
And still baffled as to how Berahino is going to get match fit without playing matches.

I'm trying to work out what it was about yesterday's performance that's got so many people so riled up. Thought it was really enjoyable. This! I enjoyed it, but some people are stuck in such a negative mindset that they can't even bare to smile anymore!

apologies if already pointed out but.... Stoke: 55% possession, Shots 13, shots on target 8, corners 6. Two nil, could have been more and a clean sheet.
Arnie and Sobhi aside, not many performances will have caught the eye of the Ballon d'Or judges but after the Spurs debacle and with Citeh and Chelsea coming up this was a good day at the office.

Another miserable showing. At home against a lame duck and still zero ambition to kill the game off. Hughes needs to fuck off. And sharpish. Affelay sat on the bench again for the abysmal Whelan. Berahino on the bench again. At home. Against a team fighting relegation. I'd rather claw my eyes out FUCK. OFF. HUGHES. Too full of yourself.....listen to people who know what they are on about especially the professionals or get down the vale

Wow, 3 positive posts on the bounce, in a negative thread.
9th place with Everton and West Brom having a wobble, with a tougher fixture list for the rest of the season.
Onwards and upwards.

This was a very convincing game by Stoke as we tore them apart. Middlesbrough is a team that has been very good defensively this season, but struggled to score, but we created numerous good opportunities and were really unlucky not to score 4 or 5! To critisize the team after this performance is to me baffling! I haven't seen many teams have a more convincing win over Middlesbrough than this one! Is it so hard to see this was a very good performance by Stoke!?

Whelan couldn't pass a Pub apart from the one to Arnie for the first goal you mean? did you even see the game? gotta love how agendas seemingly force people to make fucking stupid comments on here.

Definitely a pass as well, not hit and hope. Sadly for Whelan, all the talk has been about the way Arnie (brilliantly) brought the ball down, rather than the rather splendid pass. Good job it was to Arnie though else he'd have been left looking like a dick.

I genuinely can't see how people can be SO negative after the win on Saturday.

The Twitter thing is incredible. Many seem to have some sort of unfounded sense of superiority to the point that they ridicule this MB but to my mind there's no difference between stuff on here and on there. I've never known such crying and bitching about players who they think should be starting and how they castigate players that do. Basically the nub of Stoke Twitter is that Hughes is the anti to Imbula's Christ.

I've been a huge critic of Hughes this season, but have no complaints about Saturday. We continued to attack for the whole 90, showed invention and craft, and got the job done. Against a poor side yes, but for the first time in a while I went away chuffed with how we did.

So just to confirm, if we lose heavily against a free scoring, top side you're right all along? If we put up a decent fight, I'll be wrong. If we roll over and get our bellies tickles like at Spurs, I'll be right. Believe me mate, I hope I'm wrong. I don't enjoy watching our team getting embarrassed on national TV. So just to confirm, you were wrong.
