So if you drop a piece of paper you get in trouble with the police.
If someone else picks up your piece of paper they're a hero.
If you drop a piece of paper with "£20" on it, you're fully entitled to be an outraged victim.
If you pick up a piece of paper with "£20" on it you're the scum of the Earth & death via hanging is too good for you?

How do you spot them, plain clothes maybe?.

I am forever picking litter up these days. There's a college near to where I live, and the students are forever dropping their lunch wrappers and plastic bottles all around. Take the stuff home or put it in a bin. Lazy, unthoughtful b's. There is no pride anymore, just lazy so and so's!

I did once try the "excuse me you seem to have dropped something" on someone who openly dropped some papers. "Very funny" came the reply and walked off, couldn't give a shit.

I hate lazy litterers (if there's such a word!) but bit if a difference to a fag/dog end dropped and fly-tipping. Its probably best stub a fag out on floor than set fire to a bin anyway!

If all itmes of fast food is sold has a bar code on it, then that bar code is linked to a credit/debit card when purchased, so if you find wrappers/litter you could take it somewhere and then its automtically put against a name. If people are paying cash then a national ID scheme could be used, if you don't want a card have you got something to hide ? You could always extend it to other items as well. That would take away 3/4 of the litter you see lying around town and cities

I'm forever picking it up in the area where I live. Lazy bastards! I've wondered for a while if there'd be any value in forming volunteer litter picking groups in each area, few hi-viz waistcoats (maybe sponsored by a local business (takeaway?)) some bin bags and some litter picking grabber things shouldn't be too difficult to organise Shirley? Knowing Stokies it could turn into a bit of a social event And once a place is clean it's a lot easier to keep clean - broken window syndrome. Good they they're increasing penalties anyway, they're hot on it in Singapore and that place is spotless.
