Despite being located within the bounds of Stoke on Trent, to me, conceptually Port Vale FC are absolutely no different to say, Leyton Orient FC. Just another struggling football club. I don't really care whether they go under now or live to fight another day before going under, but go under they certainly will. Apart from a few thousand (3-4,000?) die hard fans who I do feel a bit of sympathy for no one really cares do they? Their only purpose in the football league is to make up the numbers and will easily be replaced by a club with a genuine ambition to succeed, maybe Dover, Barrow, Gateshead or Forest Green? I've said it many many times before, these days a city the size of Stoke on Trent simply cannot sustain two professional football clubs. It simply can't! For example Leeds c twice the size of Stoke on Trent has one football league club. Says it all. Who knows, some miracle might occur that keeps the Vale afloat for a bit longer, but would only delay the inevitable and if I were Smurf (thank god I'm not) I would now do exactly what he appears to be doing, namely sowing the seeds to get out and run with whatever he can recoup from the failed venture. what the hell did expect from this venture though, he is obviously smart enough to have made some money, I think he was very badly advised himself, think the guy he first went into it with Paul Wilde has taken him for a ride

They appear to be reluctant to sell to a hedge fund.

The fans posting on OVF seem like decent enough bunch. That said, if any of them came within a hundred yards of the house I'd set my dogs Pepsi and Shirley on them - yet somehow I might feel sympathy as the Chihuahua and Cockapoo dream team savage a Vale fan into a blubbering mess while the distant siren of an ambulance echoes through his traumatised brain whose closing impulse was not to form yet another bitter opinion about Stoke City but was, in fact, the realisation that leaving the nauseating filth of Burslem's ghetto that day was a fucking bad idea. Only joking, no malice intended, Vale fans are great, I want one as a pet. Up the Vale!

At peace here
I do not quite understand how a football club works in England, I believe that Port Vale will be relegated to my sadness as a fan club. I did not want to see the club dying and coming to an end, but by the way things go This will be the end soon. It will hardly appear good people to run the club from now on, I hate modern football. I will have to accompany the Port Vale in the lower divisions if things continue this way, but who knows maybe some smart buyer appears and knows Stabilize the club in the Football League.

Crabble (Dover) is a decent little ground.Just had a new stand built.Got a good catchment area as well for fans.

Apparently the ground is worth £10m and if they were promoted they'd be getting close to 20,000 crowds!
According to Norwegians interested in the club. Incredible.

Squad worth five million. They haven't paid a transfer fee for years I hope these Norwegians buy them. It'll be pretty entertaining seeing the Vale owned by a group of businessmen who don't realise that you're not supposed to bump up the asking price of something you're attempting to purchase.

1-1 draw today.
Better day for them with Swindon, Oldham & Bury losing.
4 points behind Oldham in 20th with 3 games in hand.

Why would an old marl hole in Burslem be worth £9M??
There is empty derelict land all over the city that no one wants.
I can estimate the value of Vale Park - nothing, nowt, zilch.
In fact it will cost you money to raze the dump to the ground before you are stuck with the derelict land for decades.

They'll need to encase it within a giant concrete sarcophagus, like Chernobyl No. 4.
