I'm gonna be controversial and suggest that people with the interests of the city overall would not want to see Vale relegated. Now CREWE ? yes ! I remember their constant jibing about how Crewe play footballl the "proper way" and Stoke just belt it forwards. Also their joy at finding out HS2 is stopping at Crewe not Stoke, as for Vale fans 'hating' us ...... it's the old frustrated inferiority complex mixed with a hint of envy as well as underdog syndrome all rolled into one, similar to how Stoke fans think of Man U + Chelsea + Citeh + Arsenal followers as glory-hunting twats. For the good of the Potteries in a wider context I'd prefer to see 'em stay up. (I now await an onslaught of criticism !!)

Any kind person able to give us a quick heads up on the Saide-Mousseallati business now that the thread has disappeared? Much appreciated and I promise to try and keep up to date with my gloating in future.

Much appreciated and I promise to try and keep up to date with my gloating in future. Basically he is a super star agent, that also trades in oil and stocks. Naturally with all this wealth he has a website (a free hosting one with wix). He also lists himself as the technical director at our dearest neighbours, and got the vale to part with far more money than they have got on a load of naff foreign players and that Bruno manager guy. He is also an integral part of the norwigen hedge fund take over, which seems to have been nothing more than a car sales man and a land scape gardener, using crowd funding to buy the club. He has references from an American lawyer and a Nigerian accountant. Honestly I have not made this up, I'm not clever enough to come up with a fairy tail like this Norman bought it hook line and sinker.

Given their last eight fixtures which include games against Sheffield United, Fleetwood and Bolton (top 3) plus away games at play-off contenders Oxford and Rochdale as well as a local derbys away at Walsall and relegation fighters Chesterfield, there next match at home v AFC Wimbledon is an absolute must win. I believe 4 or 5 points is the most they can hope for giving them a maximum of 47 points. Nowhere near enough to survive IMO.
I urge all Vale fans, both of them, to dust off their road maps to Forest Green, Hartlepool and Grimsby, if they even survive that long that is!

Yes it's looking pretty grim for the Burslem boys, after the home game to the Wombles they have only 2 home games (against the top 2 sides) and 5 away games and they have only picked up 7 points all season on their travels.

"Smurthwaite then improved the club's budget to allow over ten new, mostly foreign, signings, and stated that he expected Vale to be challenging for the top six and warned his staff that he would enact "plan B" if the club were not in the top six by Christmas."

I fully understand the angle you have chosen to approach the subject but I'm struggling to see exactly what the Vale bring to the City? Maybe joy for us Stoke fans watching their decline? I know that I rarely give them a second thought. Only checking their result on a Saturday hoping they've lost and then carrying on with whatever.

As a stoke fan it's mildly enjoyable watching vale suffer. But as a proud stokie I'm keen for the city to thrive and like it or not I see vale as a key player in this city. Staying in league one surely gets a greater attendance than league two so for the local businesses it's s no brainier. More away fans equals more tourism etc...

Just don't get all this hatred towards them, and all this wishing they were out of business. Not sure how many people, excluding players, rely on PVFC for income, support staff, shop staff, ticket office, admin etc etc etc, but all local lads and lasses, all of whom would find it pretty tough to get employment elsewhere, not to mention the local businesses that see an increase in business once a fortnight, ok, not huge numbers, but much needed income anyway. It would be like working on Wedgewoods, and laughing if Royal Doulton closed... Good luck Vale...

Maybe Port Vale should have shown some thought to the local business's they used before going into administration twice? Companies way bigger than PVFC have entered administration, and come out of it and continued their business. What would you rather them do, simply fold leaving a trail of unpaid debts, or somehow restructure and continue to trade and hopefully restrict the damage. I had a company that suffered from my biggest client folding, and it is a triple whammy I tell ya. Firstly, all the money they owe me, gone. Secondly I am left with a load of stock. Thirdly, I have lost my biggest client and turnover is now slashed. So, yes, administration is never good, but for many companies it is a bitter pill to swallow for their suppliers, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, instead of staring into the abyss of bankruptcy and cessation of trading.

I also remember how petty and vicious they were when the boot was on the other foot, how they all laughed when there was talk of a merger between the clubs (yes there was!) Fuck em. Fuck em sideways.

In the early 90's,as you say when we were at our lowest ebb,I played footy for a pub team in Wolstanton and there were, unbelievably more Vale fans than Stokies in the team. The stick I got regularly was in the main, good natured but some very unsavoury comments would be thrown my way every now and then. It didn't really bother me and I gave as good as I got but I haven't forgot and I wonder what goodwill we would get from them if it was us in their position. I think we all know the answer to that. Also,I would love someone to explain to me how a struggling Vale who have been in administration twice is good for the city.

I have some very good friends who are vale fans and are sound, i also know some who see them beating a team at the bottom of league better than us losing to premier league champions.
We all have our fair share of idiots all clubs have.
My mum was a vale fan and she was best person in the world to me and for that reason alone i hold no grudge.
