A few weeks ago I posted how good the movie HACKSAW RIDGE was, and was asked in return how it compared with the LION.
As a result I attempted to watch the Lion and gave up twice bored with subtitles etc.
Tonight I thought no, if people rate it there must be something in it worth watching.
AFTER THE FIRST 45+ mins of subtitled mins this became an amazingly moving movie that genuinely bought tears to my eyes and that I recommend.
I hope you try and enjoy.

Hacksaw Ridge was an awesome film - one to watch on the big screen without doubt.
Lion left me cold. The story it is based on is amazing but the film is a big disappointment particularly the second half which is just wooden. It's a paint by numbers attempt at making a film trying to win awards. Plus - the most appalling product placement. Not just the overuse of Google Earth but Dev falling asleep with his laptop in his arms with the logo prominently displayed.
Btw - I saw Manchester By The Sea last night. Heavy stuff, but an amazing film. Well worth checking out.

Watched Hacksaw ridge last week and thought that was a good film, but I thought Manchester by the sea was 2 hours I'll never get back.
