What dates are the semi finals on? Not sorted out yet by the looks of it Is this the point where we find out that Campbell can't play because of a clause in his contract?

Without wanting to sound premature, but where and when is the Final played? Two legged like the semis. So at the home grounds of the clubs involved.

To put the challenge into perspective here's how we've done against them in the league this season;
Man City 5 Stoke City 2 Stoke City 2 Man City 4
But I don't think we had many of our better players playing. I will have a look now. Of course they might not have as well!

On our way home from the game now, really enjoyed that. Thought we played some excellent stuff in the first half and managed the game well in the second half overall.
We were quite direct and made the most of Greenidge and Campbell's pace and power, their defence couldn't live with the pair of them. Two well taken finishes in the first half, Greenidge's especially slipping the defender and firing it into the near post corner.
Harry Souttar stood out a mile, dominant at the back and produced the pass of the game in the second half. Seemed comfortable carrying the ball out and building attacks as well. He was allowed to do this by Rachide Balde's covering and overall excellent positional play, he occupied the holding midfield role very well and kept possession ticking over. We lost our defensive shape a bit when he went off and gave away a soft goal as a result.
Overall a very encouraging display from the youngsters, looking forward to seeing how they get on against Man City in the semis now!

Get Campbell in the first team squad before the end of the season.
We might as well try and get something productive out of it.

For the away game we didn't have any of Edwards, Souttar, Dunwoody, Verlinden or Campbell playing. Only Dunwoody played in the home game. So there's definitely hope.

so being extremely forward and positive thinking, if we do win the semi, then it's either chelsea or spurs in the final?
how do their youth teams compare to ours? does anyone know?

Man City and Chelsea basically hoover up the best players in their region and internationally. Chelsea seem to have more of a domestic bias and have loads of England youth internationals. Man City have loads too but also seem to have a bigger international contingent.
They are the best two youth sides in the country by an absolute mile.

Thought that was a good competent Stoke performance, would have loved to watch Harry Souter and Luis Da Silva play against Jordan Greenidge and Tyrese Campbell as at the back and front Stoke physically dominated the opposition. Fifteen minute journey home for me but at the game I met the father of one of our unused subs Harvey Read. His father had travelled over 250 miles from the family home in Southampton to support him. Now that's dedication. Well done sir. Attendance 1765.

Christensen will surely be a Chelsea player next season? I think Ake and Chalobah will get their chance too. Loftus-Cheek and Baker could be interesting though. I'd like is to sign both permanently!

Luke45 wrote it up well.
Men against boys. We were a bit direct at times but Campbell and Greenidge had the beating of their defence all night. Greenidge was a great finish.
Souttar towered above their attack and stopped everything . All players played their part, some skill by all and confident on the ball.
A good Stoke following and noisy at times.

Noisy and cringeworthy at times. Call me a boring old fart but it was a crowd made up largely of families with young kids and some of the chants weren't appropriate. I was on my jack but was sat talking to an old fella and his 2 grandkids (Preston fans), he left after 60 odd minutes

Yes, Luke, I agree with all that - hardly surprising as we sat next to one another at the game. Greenidge and Campbell looked far too fast and powerful for their defence. Greenidge looks to be an excellent target man - mobile and good in the air. Cambell looks a natural finisher - came so close to a deserved hat trick. You could tell Soutar has league experience - best defender on the pitch by a country mile. Has he stopped growing yet - I wonder? Balde was the surprise package for me - positional sense superb and good technique. He could give Imbula and Adam some one on one coaching on the art of defending as a midfielder! He still looks a bit small but, hopefully, he will bulk up a bit in a year or so. As you said - we lost some solidity when he was subbed off. Campbell won't need any motivation for the semi final games given that they are against his old club! Hopefully all those 4 will make the grade sooner or later - and preferably at Stoke.
