We did. I was there and we looked poor. Then followed with an impressive draw at Chelsea. 7 points flattered them TBPO. We won both relatively comfortably without playing particularly well...... It is important to win against two very poor sides (both were relegated), and then we played great away against a very average Chelsea team. After that things were pretty dross.

I wonder if the club have sent any media with the squad to Dubai?Probably hear something next week after 3 days out there🤔 theyve gone to Dubai for warm weather training, what's the obsession of wanting to know every fine detail, are people too obsessed these days? Have a look at West Hams and Everton's Twatter and then look at ours. It's like night and day. We're miles behind.

Jebel Ali resort is ace. Super golf course and pristine football pitches Miles from anywhere else...which I suppose is a good thing if you want to keep an eye on everyone. Having said that. A 30min drive is nothing these days to the young people. Staying at Jebel Ali is like staying in Stoke and then going out in Manchester...then again, Dubai is not the most user friendly city for those of us who like our pub crawls to be within walking distance. I must admit if I had 5 days of team building I could handle a hotel with a golf course attached in +30deg temperatures.

Bayern is absolutely spot on imo on the subject of our media dept. The official sites of West Ham and Everton whose clubs are over in Dubai put ours to shame, articles on both sites about their trips, player interviews and even match highlights on Everton's. Whilst our club have been brilliant regarding season tickets and travel the media dept is absolutely pathetic and light years behind on so many aspects. Also add in the Official sites of Bournemouth and Sunderland and news on their trips to Madrid and New York respectively.

The media can be too intrusive. Part of the purpose of the trip is rest and relaxation, you can't do that with some lackey shoving a microphone in your face.

Phew , feel a lot better having seen those pictures...
tbh my only interest was if a game was to be played out there..(as Id have gone).. as no game , hopefully now due to flight / notice logistics , it remains that way .. other than hearing of any injury news and news that the club arrivie home safely it's a non news story ... which surely is what much of the week is about...out the goldfish bowl and off to the shops to spend their riches.

The GB middle distance ladies go to Kenya for their winter training camp at altitude. If footballers want to be considered professional sportsmen, they should not be going to Dubai for a holiday in the middle of the season.

The GB middle distance ladies go to Kenya for their winter training camp at altitude. If footballers want to be considered professional sportsmen, they should not be going to Dubai for a holiday in the middle of the season. You don't think that perhaps middle distance runners and professional footballers might benefit from different training programs in differing climatic Conditions? I would imagine that the main objective of a mid winter training break for footballers would be the chance to train in warmer and drier conditions than a British winter and that altitude training would be of much less benefit mid season - although it might have some benefit in preseason when the training work load would be higher.
