Week on Tuesday/Wednesday Cheers mate so if that happens and they win it only leaves the 8th as a possible date? But surely a week is such short notice for everyone involved at both clubs? It does as long as they are in the champions league mate ...if they go out it frees up plenty

Totally agree and all they could do is put it out there that if Man City lose it MAY be on the 8th?Just don't see that happening though

Well it won't be 8th March unlikely to be 11th as I feel sure Man City will triumph in the replay it will be anybody's guess when the game will be scheduled.

Surely it won't be on the 8th now ? If so tickets are going back... Why wont it be? Only 3 days before the original game, hardly much difference for those waiting on the original date anyway to see if they will go Could end up with the same situation later in the season anyway finding out just a week before

I can't see it being on the 8th TBH, looking at their fixtures, assuming of course they beat Huddersfield, they still have to play Man Utd, which was due to be this weekend, but that is off because Utd are in the Lge Cup final, and I would have thought consideration for this game would be given before the re arranged Stoke game, as it was scheduled 1st. so, looking at their fixture, and international breaks, they have very few midweek slots available I reckon it will as late as the end of April, with the situation made even worse if they get past Monaco in the R16 Champs lge.

The Man City Huddersfield replay has been confirmed as Wednesday March 1st, 7.45pm, live on BBC One. Ridiculous really that we've got to wait until 10 days before the original tie date to find out when our pre-bought tickets will be valid for!

As I said above what else do you expect them to be able to do ? Looking at the calendar this is Man City Schedule Tue 21/2 Monaco Nothing but We're playing Spurs Wed 1/3 Huddersfield Sun 5/3 Sunderland Wed 8/3 Nothing and Utd will almost certainly be playing Europa on the 9/3 Sat 11/3 Boro in the Cup if they get through against Huddersfield Wed 15/3 Monaco Sun 19/3 Liverpool World Cup Qualifiers Sat 1/4 Arsenal Wed 5/4 Chelsea Sat 8/4 Hull Tue 11/4 Quarter final Champ league (If Through) Sat 15/4 Southampton Tue 18/4 2nd Leg Champ League Sat 22/4 WBA (Possibly cancelled if in the FA Cup Semi) Tue 25/4 free With Utd almost certainly taking up this date Sat 29/4 Boro Tue 3/5 Potential Champ League Semi Sat 6/5 Palace Tue 10/5 2nd Leg Champ League Semi Sat 13/5 Leicester Tue 17/5 Free with Us & WBA to play if they get to the FA Cup Semi final Sat 21/5 Watford So their free spots at the minute are 8th March that Utd can't do bar a complete collapse against St-Etienne 11th April will be Utd unless they're still in Europa then it'll be us or neither If City still in Champs League 18th April Us if Utd play the previous week or neither if still in Champs league 25th April has to be Utd if they're still in Europa Basically worse case scenario if Man City & Utd do progress in the cups is either the 8/3 or we wait until 17/5 but then Man City could have another fixture piled up by then. Monaco game is the key.

the fact this game wont be on a Saturday is depressing enough - cracking away.Sat 11/3 Boro in the Cup if they get through against Huddersfield. (pray for a Huddersfield shock)

And of course people have to book time off work (me included) but thats life, there replay has just been scheduled with a weeks notice. unfortunately in the world of football where cup games are played at a weekend and postponements happen, and a team is in multiple other comps, rescheduling is a nightmare and unfortunate sometimes for fans. The only thing they could have done was bring it forward to the 8th anyway, but the premier league wouldnt allow that!

Isn't there a rule preventing Premier League or cup matches being played on a Champions League night?
I seem to remember Hull having to play Arsenal in the cup last year midweek at 7pm (as a compromise)?
|
|
|
Post by ratters on Feb 21, 2017 19:54:05 GMT
Well if man city go all the way in both comps it will be impossible to play this game before the end of the season (maybe not our game per say) but impossible for man city to complete the season based on that rule, so must be some dispensation somewhere?
Makes you wonder why we dont have more midweek games earlier in the season or cup games in the week like europe

Also if that rule is true, why are Real playing Valencia tonight at the same time as champions league games???
Edit that... they play at 5.45 not 7.45
