Yes, you are a Tory Boy! I notice that you're ex R.N. so I'm not surprised by your moronic right wing politics! As for facts:1. The Speaker is a former Conservative not Labour M.P. 2. If the number of seats matched population changes they would be increasing not decreasing. 3.The Boundaries Commission are basing their seats on a register which excludes millions of voters, many of them students, poor and Labour voters. The Electoral Commission has warned the government about this! Indeed, the Tories are trialling photo I.D. which many people won't have! But parliament isn't independent, it has a Conservative majority. Haven't you noticed that M/s May and her government are all Conservatives? It's wrong for Lichfield people to come on here moaning about Stoke but perfectly acceptable for Northwich people to do just that! Tory Boy hypocrisy to go with your Tory Boy ignorance! The number of seats are being cut to cut costs and all came out of the expenses scandal if my memory serves me right. The boundaries commission always have a cut off point, the work done was done based on that if that's thrown out and you start again in a year or two years time the data you're working with will be just as out of date as it is now, any changes get picked up in the next review as they always do. The tories are trailing voter ID and not just photo ID but also utility bills, mobile phone bills etc seems fair enough Labour have been trailing voter fraud for years No! The number of seats are not being reduced to cut costs they're being reduced to help the Tories gerrymandering the result of the next general election! At a time, when we will be losing all our M.E.P.s and the workload at Westminster will increase it makes no sense to reduce the number of M.P.s. Your argument about the boundaries is bogus as the Coalition introduced new registration rules which make it harder for mobile workers/students to register. This was done as an act of voter suppression! The Electoral Commission has expressed concerns about how the work on boundaries is being undertaken. I notice how you have done a Trump! Voter fraud is always done by the left! But, there is no evidence voter fraud has affected the outcome of any British or American general election. But, why let the facts get in the way of your self serving agenda!

It isn't a case of decades to come, the slowdown in the economy has occurred last year and this year! This is despite big spending on credit cards! So, it is happening now! I find it fascinating that 'followyoudown''s Tory Party invented the OBR to provide forecasts for future budgets. I assume, the Tories are so convinced that these forecasts are worthless, M/s May will now stand up in parliament and announce she is disbanding it? budgetresponsibility.org.uk/about-the-obr/what-we-do/You'd probably be even more fascinated if you understood the full scope of what an independent fiscal watchdog actually does As it states it produces budget forecasts twice a year! If you Tories have no faith in forecasts why do the O.B.R. continue to produce them?

I know getting something correct even in part is a relatively new experience for you but perhaps try googling the meaning of full scope and independent and then read the link again

Thanks to Jezzamandering the result of the next few elections is not in doubt. 650 or 600 I don't really care but it can not be right one MP can have 22k constituents and another can have 108k constituents. As for making it harder for students to register, yes making them get out of bed and do something is terribly unfair As for Trump comments, don't forget it's Corbyn who proclaimed he is like trump and it's a nice strawman argument about fraudulent voting not affecting the result of the election when my comments are pretty clearly a joke with a nod to the likes of the 140% turnouts Labour get in Tower Hamlets, you really would have to be alcock not to get that

One of the reasons the Isle of Wight has such a large electorate is because the Tory voting locals don't want the island to be divided up with part being part being put into the mainland. This has nothing to do with the Labour Party! Labour has never elected a M.P. from the island! The concept of equal population can be applied to the existing 650 constituencies, so your argument that reducing the no. to 600 seats is totally bogus! So, you do admit the new registration rules make it harder to stay on the register. In my area we have a massive churn of population. The local council sends out registration forms every year. Some years. I've had to ring up the local council to ensure I registered properly. My point is that the outcome of the general election was not affected. This argument stands despite any infringements in the rock solid Labour seats in Tower Hamlets. Yes, Corbyn did say he would like to be a populist like Trump but there's a massive difference between a populist of the left and one of the right. However, generally I don't populists because the end up being very unpopular! Trump's favourability ratings are dire and will get worse!

I'm not a Tory Boy, so keep insults away please, always a sign you've lost a debate. The boundaries commission, 1 each in england, Scotland, Wales and Northern ireland report every 5 years to the Government on potential changes, the next one is due in 2018. Why are you getting so het up about the number of constituencies, in the Blair years it rose to 659 before it was reduced to 646 in 2005, they are always changing to match the population changes, it's always going up and down, we should be glad that there aren't so many MP's leaching off the system. Parliament is independent, it's run by a governement from MP's which is voted in by the electorate, MP's can vote against bill's if they do not like them, and it's current speaker is a labour MP. If people from Lichfield come on here moaning that the place is a dump and are fed up with nothing happening then maybe I would say something, but they aren't are they, the thread title is about Stoke on trent, not Lichfield Yes, you are a Tory Boy! I notice that you're ex R.N. so I'm not surprised by your moronic right wing politics! As for facts:1. The Speaker is a former Conservative not Labour M.P. 2. What about being ex RN has it got to do with which way you vote, many people in the forces vote for all parties, is it jealousy weren't you brave enough to join up to the forces ? Where I have I said people from Lichfield can't come on here, I said the thread is about Stoke, not Lichfield so the discussion is about Stoke, you quote about me coming from Northwich onto the thread, it's a damn site closer than south fookin London for 35 odd years though isn't it, what fooking hypocrisy that is and as I said, i've got family who are councillors so probably have more info than the general person can get. I'm still waiting for you to answer the simple question - If the stopping of milk for 7-11 year olds was that bad, why didn't the next labour governement in the 70's reintroduce it ?

If, you think, free school milk should have been re-instated Thatcher was P.M. for many years and the Tories in power for 18+6=24 years to do it! Seems like you are attempting to deflect attention from the facts! You say you have insight into the Labour party because you know councillors. Well, I used the ferry between Dover and Calais so that gives me insight into the Royal Navy! Well, the train journey between London and Stoke is 1hr and 24mins which is faster than Northwich-Stoke! So, I am closer to Stoke than Northwich. Lewisham is one of the poorest boroughs in London so we have far more in common with Stoke than you posh boys in rich Cheshire!

Regards free school milk (and I was at junior school the day it stopped):
Nick is spot on - it's a matter of historical record that Thatcher abolished free school milk for the over 7s. But the concept was already in decline. In 1968 Wilson's Labour government abolished milk for secondary school pupils. But after Thatcher, many LEAs continued to provide free milk and in 1977 the EEC School Milk Subsidy Scheme was introduced. In 1978 free milk was provided for children between 7 and 12 from families dependent upon Income Support. The 1980 Education Act added a further £25 million in EEC subsidies to LEAs to help subsidise milk in schools. It wasn't until 1995 when school milk finally tailed off. It's a real shame because I've always 100% supported the concept of free school milk for all kids, regardless of parental income or circumstances.

I think you mean it was her fault that it stopped, but as I pointed out it was the previous labour government that started stopping it; You asked why she didnt resign (as it has now been shown to you she didnt agree with it), if every person resigned over things they didnt agree with, who would be left in work, or if it was just politics theyd end up like the current labour party inder Corbyn 😆 you say im diverting attention away from facts, this started when you quoted thatcher as the milk snatcher, I was pointing out the fact it was Wilson who started the milk snatching, something you cant seem to grasp and then turned it into a political war. The train times you quote are wrong, you havent added in your local time and tube times from your house, nearest station to me that I use to get to Stoke is Hartford 4 miles away by car, only 15 mins to Crewe then 20 mins to Stoke. in miles its 33 and i can be home from the match in under an hour, can you? Milk in schools had slowly phased out by 79/80 from a succesion of parties, but it was being subsidised for deprived children until the Blair years where I think the eu phased it subsidies.

The truth is Northwich is as close Stoke as London. Furthermore, as a poor area, Lewisham has far more in common with Stoke than the rich Manc commuter belt in Cheshire ever does. We're urban dwellers with big social problems and pockets of severe deprivation. You cow fcukers have got nowt in common with Stoke!

if you had geographical sense you would understand nobody uses northwich station to get to Stoke, you use the other station in Northwich on the west coast main line to crewe only 15 minutes away. or even have the sense to research something so you dont make yourself look a bit of a fool But how do you get to the other station? The truth is Northwich is as close Stoke as London. Furthermore, as a poor area, Lewisham has far more in common with Stoke than the rich Manc commuter belt in Cheshire ever does. We're urban dwellers with big social problems and pockets of severe deprivation. You cow fcukers have got nowt in common with Stoke! Stop........ just stop ...... you crazy diamond ! If I invited you and Northwich round to mine for an afternoon glass of sherry he'd be here in about 45 mins give or take and by the time you turned up we'd have finished the bottle.

London as close to Stoke as Northwich, stop it, you are making yourself look silly; and you do realise that there are different areas of wealth in other towns around the country apart from london don't you, not every house in cheshire is a footballers style house you know.

Now, you're pretending that all those millionaire footballers in Cheshire are poor! By the way the train from Euston to Stoke is direct so don't take one time consuming changes! I bet the demographics of Lewisham are far closer to Stoke than ever Northwich are. You're making yourself look silly if you say they aren't! I'll get the stats up to prove it!

Don't bother, it takes virtually the same time to get from Hartford to Stoke as it does from Lewisham to Euston, adding on getting from home to the local station for both, I'll be in the pub in Stoke whilst you are waiting for the train at Euston I only have 1 change at Crewe, you would have 1 change at Euston, what's the difference, not sure where you get 2 from ? www.thetrainline.com/train-times/hartford-to-stoke-on-trent/15-feb-2017/1250www.thetrainline.com/train-times/lewisham-to-london-euston

Where do I get the two changes from? 50% brain damage(half amputated) and absence seizures. I meant to write two trips but the brain slipped out of gear! Did you seriously think I constantly edit and re-edit my postings if there wasn't a good reason for it?
