Yet another miserable turd of footballer succumbs to greed. Perhaps we could choose the greedy 11:
Van Hooijdonk, Payet, Costa, Sheron

Probably the best striker in the league, but what a despicable individual he is! He seemed to have got his shit together this season under conte' . As you say the most complete centre forward in the premier league this season

Were you robbed or defrauded by a football manager in a past life :) Your default position seems to be to highlight the manager, my immediate reaction was that Costa is a gobby bastard with form!! IMHO its a bit stupid to pick a fight over a fitness issue with a striker who is producing and has been a mainstay in propelling your team to the top of the league. It's about sending a message to all players that they are not bigger than the club, surely you must endorse that kind of management? H

Perhaps one day we'll all finally find these salaries indefensible?

If the likes of Chelsea, Man City, PSG, Real Madrid etc are going to lose their best players to China to follow the money then GOOD. These clubs think nothing of poaching other teams players and pay wages that can't be matched. This spat with Costa, could easily change the outcome of Chelsea's season.

Probably by offering first team football to players of other teams that are either surplus to requirements or not playing regularly

Been offered £30m per YEAR by a Chinese club and he's seen his arse after Chelsea dug in Crazy crazy money There is probably nothing on earth he can spend the money considering he earns 10m with Chelsea. This greed knows no bounds

It wasn't that long ago that having that kind of money could lead to a death sentence in China.
He'd better be sure to pay his taxes if he goes

The argument of 'you'd would change jobs for more money' is a fucking stupid one we aren't talking of going from £400 to £650 pw. We are talking about someone who already earns £4million pounds a year. How can you need more than that?! seriously

H I made the comment when I thought it was over a fitness issue ie maybe put a couple of pounds on. Now I've read the fuller story I don't blame Conte one bit if Costa hasn't trained because he's pissed off about not being allowed to explore the Chinese offer. I can also see Costa's point of view, if sombody's offering £30M a year you want to listen.

I really don't understand how they maintain their motivation even on the money they get here, I think I would be a one season wonder.

This greed knows no bounds I know what you mean Salop in the bigger picture, but how is exploring an offer "made to him" make "him" greedy? The club is willing to pay him X amount for his services. He can build wealth for his family that could last for generations upon generations. Wouldn't you want that for your family? Is that greed, or hard work and sacrifice?

Sounds like it makes you a better manager than Hughes though. I just knew by some of these ridiculous posts that some on here hadnt got a clue about real life of football. kiddies games warriors, adding the keyboard ones, makes this board defunkt for these people.

If the £30m a year is true, I think almost anyone would want to listen to that. I don't know anything of his background, but you could easily sort your whole family out for life. It's a ridiculous amount of money for a year's work, and the Chinese government are being pressured to implement a law where the sort of fees and wages their clubs are paying could be outlawed soon. Glad I anna used my free transfer in fantasy football this week yet. Goodbye Costa, hello Harry Kane! I took a -4 point hit, then came to this forum and saw this. :/ Hopefully he'll be back in next week, for the sake of my FF team!
