I have never witnessed so much negativity following a Stoke win, and so hope to try to bring on some positive reactions and look forward with some optimism to our Upcoming FA cup game versus our old rivals, who we have not welcomed for some time, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Tonight against Watford we had a wealth of potential talent on the bench. Many people feel that they should have started. An equal number of people would argue that their recent performances did not warrant a start.
The coming game against Wolves is an ideal opportunity to say; OK now is your chance. Go out there and show us what you can do.
For me I feel tha Shaq, Imbula and Bojan have an ideal opportunity to come out and prove themselves. If they are unable or can not then sadly I think we have to sadly say it is time to say goodbye.
A good run in the FA cup is just what we need and may help to cure the growing disharmony that is becoming alarmingly commonplace on this forum of late.
lets get behind the lads and show some support.

I'm looking forward to it.
Go back to 4 at the back.
And he has to start N'Goy for me. This is a great time for it.
Grant
Bardsley Shawcross Indi Pieters (Muni if fit)
Whelan Afellay Imbula
Bojan N'Goy Shaq
More than enough to win.

He won't play N'Goy, maybe for 10 minutes if we are 3-0 up, but they will definitely be up for it as will the Wolves fans so I can only see a close game on the cards.

Great post, bang on for me, but for the unrealistic expectation of the make or break stuff. We will tear them apart though. Grant Johnson Shawcross Bruno Afellay Whelan Imbula Arnie Shaqiri Crouch Bojan That'll do. More practice for the back three, get better, more confident, cut out the daftery, encouraging chatting toneet. Rest Ekker and Allen, bench them maybe.

He won't and that for me just sums up where we're going wrong. They will be up for it but if the team I suggested can't beat Wolves or let's says make Wolves play really well to beat us then it's time to pack it in.

Well personally i'm proper looking forward to saturday. I don't get to see many of our games anymore even on a stream let alone in the ground. My shift at work is anti football. However me and my lad will be coming up from nottingham on the train because this is THE game for me. Stoke city vs Wolves. Ive told the boy there is gonna be a rip roaring atmosphere and he will be watching a proper old school rivalry. After watching last night im dubious atmosphere wise. It just seemed verging on poisonous to me, an undercurrent just waiting to burst out at the slightest mistake. Anyway. Whatever happens. I'm back up the ground. Its been a while. Come on stoke.

Grant Johnson Shawcross Indi Bardsley Pieters Muniesa Whelan Adam Walters Crouch
Try and grind out a draw and take them back to Molyneux and then beat them on pens. We've got to remember that we got thrashed at home by Bristol Rovers once so we can't take these kind of games for granted, we'd have given anything back then to playing Wolves in the third round of the FA cup.

We need to win and go as far as we can in the Cup. As for who plays and who doesn't. That's Hughes call he sees them in training each day . I'm not his biggest fan but not many managers would have the balls to leave out their big signings so he must have his reasons. I can't quite figure Bojan out ,thought he would do well with Bony and should with Crouch the other two seem to have a poor attitude to me .

I would go with
Grant Johnson-Ryan-Indi-Pieters Shaq-Allen-Afellay-Arnie Bojan-Crouch
He wont though as I have a feeling Bojan is close to the exit door, so I would expect SJW to start

Grant Bardsley Shawcross Indi Pieters (Muni if fit) Whelan Afellay Imbula Bojan N'Goy Shaq More than enough to win. I'd be tempted to play Taylor instead of Pieters unless Muni is fit. Pieters really needs some competition. I'd have Crouch on the bench but I'd also look to have one of the other academy strikers on there as well.

I'm still unsure re Taylor and if he was to play I'd want him in the 3-4-3 as I actually think he's the best left sided option we have for that. It'd be good to have him on the bench though if we do go 3-0. It's a massive shame that Verlinden probably isn't fit. It'd have been a great time to put him on the bench and use him irrespective of the game situation or to have started him.

It was verging on that for sure. Mark Hughes is in very real danger of losing the crowd and once you do that at Stoke it invariably only ends up one way. I've been a huge supporter of Hughes and a vehement defender of our season to date, but last night was bad. Had we lost, I doubt there would have been a way back for Hughes. Fortunately, they were the right opposition at exactly the right time.
