Is that as close to a Pulis team as we could get? Hughes has lost his whole football philosophy. From Stokealona to Pulisball in a year. Truly mad This far from Pulisball. Pulisball is: Priority no. 1 - Defend. Priority no. 2 - win the set piece balls. So with the players we have, what would Pulis do different? The only difference in our style of play and Pulis's now is a Pulis side can defend better. We play it to the full backs who lump it up to Crouch. Hughes should be completely embarrassed of how backwards we have gone

This is a crap backward looking selection and deserves to be criticised. But if anyone tells me that means i don't support the team they can piss off. Once we kick off it'll be goaaarn! Doesnt mean i can't point out crapness in the selection Wise man once said, "fucking way she goes..." Said "Man with hole in pocket feel cockey all day" as well but that selection is an admission of a failed transfer policy for me.
It doesn't matter weather it wins, draws or loses it clearly is not the forward progression we were led to believe was promised.
I like MH but that is a tough selection to defend.

What the fuck was ever up with 4-2-3-1, we had the players for it and we had (bar a striker) a relatively settled XI. This is a mess at the moment and I'm not even looked forward to Stoke games for the last couple weeks

I wouldn't mind a Pulis team right now tbh, challenging for Europe and scoring goals for fun aren't they?

Bojan is the best you've seen in a Stoke shirt. How old are you 7? I'm 36 and I ain't seen much better I have to agree before his injury he was the best play I had seen

This feels like a "stop the rot" side. Reverting to the old guard to scrape a 1-0 and stop the run of 1 win in 6. For Hughes' sake and Stoke's sake I hope it works. Spot on Jase, my thoughts exactly. God help Hughes if we don't win. I bet Watford can't believe their luck tonight.

A starting team of our players who can be trusted to give 100%. Yet rarely come up with the goods, what a joy to behold.

Strange selection indeed, but fingers crossed for a win, 2-0 will do nicely with goals from Crouch and Walters. More pills, nurse...
Hughes has set himself up for a huge fall if this doesn't come off as planned.

That selection tonight says to me, that the manager is supremely confident of beating Watford, with no thoughts ever entering his head of relegation, the SUPERSTARS will all play in the Cup games & win the fucking trophy that Mr Coates so much desires, before he leaves this planet.
Go on Stoke, Go on Mark Hughes & go on Mr Coates.

And here come all the Knicker wetters..you never learn do you, i hope we batter them and you all look like twats AGAIN Get behind the team FFS..were Stoke Always get behind the team but that selection is horrific. With all the options available against "Watford" it's like he's looking for a point. It's because I care that I'm so angry. It's a terrible selection win or lose. He's basically saying he made a mistake lashing all that money on Imbula, Shaqiri etc because he's picking Crouch and Walters ahead of them. Crouch wont even be fresh after playing 90 v Chelsea. Not disagreeing with you Cobham about you getting behind the team ..is it such a terrible selection if we win though? Imbula has been for me a poor signing,Shaq has been poor for a while now. Sparky will live or die by his results mate we all know that Watford are going to be hurting after the result the other day against Spurs. I think were in for a tough game despite his starting 11 maybe MH has picked the players he can 100% trust to put a performance in. Who would be a football manager Eh mate?

And if he does steady the ship? Congratulations, you've managed to keep us up with 'ard work and elbow grease because you couldn't get a bunch of talented players to play together and failed to strengthen in key areas over several transfer
We're in this position because the players we've signed are like jigsaw pieces thrown together from 5 different sets, they don't go together in any meaningful way no matter how much you move them around

When you see where we were at the end of his first season and see the line up tonight it's becoming harder to defend the accusations that we've gone backwards 😐

I see people on here suggesting all sorts of weird formations and moaning about players out of position. I look at that team and it screams 4-4-2. (or 4-4-1-1) Not sure if that's good or bad..... Well it's not. Because you will see Diouf at right wing back as soon as the game kicks off. Yes we probably will

Same shape as at Watford away which worked well. Crouch keeps his place after a good game on Saturday, Walters did okay at Watford in the channels and Shaq was poor on Saturday so Arnie replaces Shaq. Allen in for Imbula, Allen was banned at Watford, and a fit Ryan replaces an injured Muniesa. Only surprise for me is no Afellay, I would have left Walters out and pushed Arnie forward

Bojan is the most gifted player I've ever seen in a stoke shirt and we're going to lose him. It's an absolute disgrace. Crouch, Adam and Walters in the same team stinks of Pulis' last season where we were beyond dreadful. You can argue their individual merits but together they have time and time again proven to be too slow and clumsy to be effective. Bojan is the best you've seen in a Stoke shirt. How old are you 7? Short memories. There were plenty of people saying the same when he was actually being played. He is immensely talented and I've had the joy of watching Fuller who is nowhere near the same level.
