Stoke trying to hijack villas loan move for the United shot stopper according to the Mail.
I hope this doesn't spell the end of Eddie Grant.

I suppose we've got to explore other options now if Derby are being stupid...reckon we'll end up signing Grant for £2m on 31st January.
In the meantime, we need someone else who can come in for the rest of the season on loan.

We need somebody because Butland's season looks to be over.

What this says is that Hughes (probably rightly based on performance) has no faith in Given, Haugard or indeed, now it seems, Bachman either. So why the hell were they all named in the 25 man squad, tying up valuable spaces, when we have been desperately short in other key positions through injury. Hughes really needs to use the January window to get the balance of the 25 man squad right for the remainder of the season.

Even with Grant, we need another keeper for backup if Jack is out for a few more months.

If you heve 25 players of the right age you have to name them in your squad. Bachmans in the squad as an under age player.

I think the point he was making is that if the squad had been more properly balanced, this wouldn't have been the case. We're certainly overstocked in some areas and woefully thin in others.

Thats putting it politely, the squad is a clusterfuck. Lets hope the squad after the Jan window will look a little more sane at least. I've no idea what we're upto ref transfers but the rumors aren't inspiring.

Penny-pinching again Stoke.
If Grant signed permanently and maintained the standards he's shown, the points gained would be worth about £3 million.

We would, but at this point we have to assume that Butand's injured so we'd need two.

Can we just play three at the back and 2 keepers , I think we may need them next two games.
Bloody mess is what it is.
Probably the keepers we have looked good in training with our strikers who couldn't score in a brothel.

I don't see the issue with Derby pushing his price up......He's pushed his own price up by showing his quality, that's what happens in the market. He's worth at least £3m on current form

How totally short sighted would that be not signing Lee Grant because Derby wanted another one mill. Having paid out 18m for Imbula it puts things into perspective

Grant should be he nimbler 2 as was the original plan his aversion to crosses has cost us twice at home already so we need a proper premier league keeper for the second half , big big window ahead .
