There's nothing good from playing Vale. They're a poor poor team with very little chance of beating us..... however, say we drop a few big names and they throw in a worldy of a performance in their big cup final, sneak a 1-0..... we'll never live it over. Comfortable home time will do please. That is the beauty of the FA cup.

If nobody can promise these two conditions then i'd want anybody but Vale

I'm firmly of the opinion that you must be nuts to want The Vale but I could just about stomach it if it was at home. I could die a happy man never having to attend the Piggery a single time more.

Boother put it far better than I ever could in the last draw thread that came around as to why we should play them. I'll try find it later.

Away from home against someone local(ish) with a big(ish) away end. The likes of Derby, Forest, Notts County, Birmingham, Wolves, Coventry, and of course The Vale spring to mind. (I really don't get the "anyone but the Vale" crowd, it'd be a mental day & the Hamil End would be bouncing. It's what the FA Cup is all about, small little nobodies being drawn at home to their big, glamours neighbours!)

Someone from League Two please at home. They should be weak enough that we'll win comfortably but at the same time we shouldn't be big enough that they'd consider us a cup final. Don't want a non-league team because they would see us as a cup final and could potentially be dangerous.
Obviously want to avoid anyone from the Premier League particularly the top 6 and Vale for the cup final reason. We'd have everything to lose and little to gain unless we really thrashed them.

If you don't want to know what ball number we are then turn off now.
36 (Thirty Six) - Now that's 63 backwards and we were formed in 1863 which means we shall beat everyone this year by 4 sore bottoms to 1.
Port Vale are number 54 (Fifty Four) which is their average attendance and average IQ.

They still harp on about when they beat us a couple of times in the 90's and if we did draw them in the cup and the unthinkable happened and we lost it would be unbearable. Hope they get an away, non money spinning tie and get knocked out. Anyone except the Burslum troids at home will do for me.

They also played 54 games that season. Could be an omen.

Do not want them Ever. We have everything to lose sadly and knowing us we probably would.! Record has to be set straight. They won the last fixture, I couldn't die happy knowing that.

That's not a bad draw. We are at home against a local club who will deffo be "up for it". Should be agood atmosphere but we should win.
