Aldi's own Monster Claws. basically Monster Munch and the same flavours but the taste isn't quite so in yer face. A bit more subtle.
I had to eat an entire multipack just to make sure. Lovely with a pint of orange pop.

Yes I think they fall within the 'Savoury Snack' remit. Admittedly close to a biscuit, but the savoury flavour swings it. I never buy crisp crisps but am partial to those, Pickled Onion MM and Space Raiders. Does anyone remember Hanky Panky? Feckin awful things with Arthur Lowe on the ads Hanky Pankys... dredged the memory banks but I can't recall ever trying them {or liking them at least}, but the advert is 'time travel', I certainly remember that... Kenneth W. Interestingly the youtube description calls them Hanky Panky crisps, I'd beg to differ I think 'toffeee coated popcorn' perhaps... dunno.

Sad thing is can still quote the ad after all these years.....they were like sugar puffs with a nut inside.

McCoy's multipack, more foilbag than crisps. Most disappointing.
Morrisons home brand Smoky Bacon fairly funky, the mix rescued the Mc's.

Bit ripe, were they, Vincey baby? You not tried them Murph? Noooooooooooooooo I don't even know where the nearest Co-Op is, Vincento.... Salt & Vinegar are probably my fave crisps although I sadly have to avoid them if I can b/c of the calorie count - and also b/c if I have one I find it torture to try to resist finishing the whole bagful (family-pack size ). These ones sound a bit of a challenge. And I like a challenge. Which is probably why I support TMP.....

Whilst the sour cream & chive dip will elevate any crisp or savoury snack {even celery} to another snackosphere on this occasion it's not so much the accompaniment that makes the snack, McCoy's Muchos smoky chilli chicken {flavour} folded crispy tortilla snacks are the dogs. With or without. Topping the SS19 chart thus far.

Old school and had a resurrection. A bit biscuity but I'm a fan. The salt & v. variety have extra zing. I'm a fan, but can cause mouth clag.

Nope, no matter the quantity I can't leave any pistachios for neither a rainy day nor other yet unforseen eventuality. Have to demolish the lot, whatever the size of pack. Even to the extent of contemplating pliers or cracker for those resisting molar crunching and the canine incision. The corner dust and 'toenail' skins is summat else too. More expensive than gowd per ounce for a reason. A protein packed snack and a bit of a challenge rolled into one. Good invention.

Afternoon, Cheesy, yes - agree that pistachios are sublime….. especially pistachio ice cream --- one taste and it's OMGGGGGGGGG. Change of subject to almonds. Just this minute spotted these on Grape Tree (link below): Spanish Marcona Almonds with Salt and Herbs 150g £3.99 Here's the ingreds: Almonds (97%), Sunflower Oil, Salt, Black Pepper, Chilli Powder, Oregano, Thyme. Never seen these/this mixture at all before, but have definitely heard of Marcona almonds many times in various cookbooks, etc., as apparently they're some of the best. £3.99 sounds a tad pricey for only 150g (about 6 ounces in proper English) so just wrestling with my conscience now as to whether I should be so decadent a spendthrift as to indulge….. hmmmmm…… but they do sound a bit on the yum side…….. Should I think nuts to it and buy some, I ask myself. Oh, bugger it, I'll probably get some. I suppose those more capable than I at such things could have a taste of them to suss them out and then make their own? Don't know how, but at a guess dry-roast for a short time in a dry frypan, then sprinkle with a little EVOO and toss them round in it then leave to cool. When cool, give them a dusting of S & BP + the above dried herbs but switch to a touch of Cajun spice blend which I'm sure I'd prefer to chilli powder. Anybody know if this would be the right way? 'Arry! Can you please tell us how to do it……. After all, you know EVERYTHING……….. (lick lick)
Oh, btw, Grape Tree have got their fairly regular offer on at the moment of 20% off everything for online purchases, but it ends tonight. + Free delivery over £35. Here they are: www.grapetree.co.uk/spanish-marcona-almonds-with-salt-and-herbs-150g

I'm still chomping my way through the mega {free delivery/% off/'go on I'll have one of them and all, to round it up' etc order. It's currently cashews with everything. Whole, crushed, fried, baked or just thrown in with dry roasted etc as a 'filler'. Even the squirrels have gone u-market.. mad for cashews. I'm a fan of the Omega seed mix with berry... it's great stuff all round, cheers for the tip off. I'll visit next, that t'interweb is a bit too tempting, I should think it'll be another month before I need a re-stock. It's worked out v. good value imo. As for the vexed question of the Almond. I'm a huge fan of the flaked Almond, particularly with cream/ice cream. i love Co-Op's salted and roasted {strong money though} and my finest ever nut flavour experience was Tunisian dusted/seasoned/smoky almonds {many moons ago, and never found again.} {They were a 'holiday' present, my returning family bought stay at home me.} BUt... ground almonds, almond 'flavour', marzipan are pretty much anathema, approached with caution. I think cyanide or somesuch smells/tastes of almonds, apparently. So if these come anywhere near, hang the cost go for it. {Having said that I couldn't justify the cost+postage, I've made a mental note for my next order.... I'm a big fan of Frangelico almond liqeur, though that's a bit sickly, better mixed.

Yep, I'm still working my way through my last delivered Grape Tree order, too - 'I'll just have a couple of those and one of these to make up the minimum spend' - done all that! Your squirrels are lucky - mine don't get cashews, they have to make do with sharing the peanuts, sunflower hearts and fatballs (which they pick up wholesale and do a Barry John off down the garden with.) I restocked on cashews yesterday (Tesks) - found a new USA recipe on-line for a Veggie Loaf I want to try & hadn't got enough of them in. Tesks do a Cashews with Salt and Black Pepper which are so moreish it's not true - I think I might have posted a note of them on this thread before. Don’t recall the the Omega seed mix with berry. Will definitely check that out for next time. Oh, yeah - almonds - Poirot always says that cyanide smells of "beeeeterre allmornz". Don't care - I like ground almonds and all sorts of almonds. There's cyanide in apple pips, anyway (not that I eat the pips) but I think you'd have to eat 12lbs of them or sth like that to have any ill-effects. You can replace part of the flour in a cake with ground almonds & it gives a slightly different and more moist texture which I like, but I like the almond flavour anyway - think of Bakewell Tart and Maids of Honour, the latter rumoured to have been named in Anne Boleyn's circle, I think. I haven't checked on it, but I'm pretty sure Frangelico is hazelnut liqueur rather than almond…... Almond is Disaronno - comes in a big square bottle. Got some in the cupboard. Bought it for cooking, not drinking. 'Vintage' isn't in it, if you get my drift (oops), so it's probably ready to chuck out now. You into pumpkin seeds, Cheesy? Love 'em & keep 'em in a fancy glass jar (ooooh, get me - VERY 'Omes an' Gardens) & think they look great as well as being good to eat & useful nutritionally re. zinc content. A sprinkle here, a sprinkle there - a sprinkle bluddy everywhere!

(Sound FX: Cook House Bugle Call) Liked hearing about your interest in mixed nuts & seeds, Cheesy, and that you're adding them to various other things. What you said reminded me of a recipe I'd seen on-line recently as it contains pistachios & slivered almonds with an option on sunflower seeds & pumpkin seeds so I thought you might like to see it - it was easy to find again, and the 'Recipe Tin' www is excellent - if you want to, you can register with them & they'll email you recipes once or twice a week - this is how I came across the Pilaf in the first place, and if I ever make it I'm sure I'll add celery + some dukkah.
