We have a problem with a certain type of person who drag our city down,we hear about low wages no jobs, one of the problems we have with these issues is education. Its not cool to go school and learn so you can earn good money or start your own business,it's cool to beg steal and let those who work pay there taxes. We need to drag our city and it's unfortunate few into the 21st century, the person who nutted the gentleman will have no self esteem if he did he would not of carried out a assault for no reason. There are comments of you should of decked him, what the gentleman did by walking away was the best thing he could of done,if he had retaliated the coward most proberly had a load of his interbreeds with him.If it ever happens to anyone else which I hope it doesn't ,if possible take there photo and report them. This is not a Stoke City problem this is a Stoke on Trent problem. It's not solely a Stoke on Trent problem though is it? It could and does happen anywhere. Correct gravy

Travelled away with Pompey a few times and seen fans having a go at each other. Highly likely if it wasn't for people not being capable of handling their drug/s of choice it wouldn't happen.

So, nobody on here saw it. Over 3,000 at the game and nobody, not one person saw this incident. Imagine a scenario of somebody making this up in the hope of getting a reaction like he has. I'll fucking butt all of yer. I probably have done i've been going Stoke that long. Ace hobby.

Cant believe that in my 18 years of going to see Stoke that the trouble i saw today was from my fellow fans. Some tool decided to headbutt me whilst queuing for a beer at half time. Not sure what exactly aggravated this individual but I was not deliberately going out to piss anyone off nor get in anyones way. I didn't get angry at the bloke exactly, more massively disappointed that a fellow stokie would behave like that to their own set of fans. Despite pleading with the bloke to let it go he hit me twice and headbutted me. Cheers mate! i was the bloke that stepped in between yer was everything alright after mate.

Did they supply binoculars in the posh seats mate ? The view from block 218 was like watching football from the moon.

These things happen to all teams though thankfully rarely. There's enough nastiness on this site, usually regarding politics, as it is,and this is a site for the educated! Some mates of mine who support Bradford City got a right battering on a train back from Sheffield quite a few years ago, it started over someone accidentally knocking into someone else. They reckon it was down to rivalry with different areas of the city. Also seen hostility against Yorkshire folk from Burnley fans even though they have big numbers from there.

Never see this? It happens. Many many years ago, a chap who had an unreasonable and ill judged personal disagreement with my good self decided to bring his problems to the match. He made the mistake of walking into Charlie's to seek me out. He found me. Unwittingly, I let him get close enough to drop the Glasgow handshake on me. Due to a quick reaction he barely connected and it was the weakest most pathetic glancing headbutt you could imagine for a grown man who had a good few years of life experience to execute on a young lad. Unfortunately for him, he wasn't part of our tight little tribe. He wan't even on the periphery. A gent who has now long passed, a real bear of a man but someone who we all looked up to as a father figure (RIP M***er, a legend never forgotten), intervened, and gently persuaded him that it wasn't in his best interests to hang around (notwithstanding the fact I was also being held back from reacting by a few folks) and he went on his way. So, it happens. It used to build character. It didn't do me much harm. But back then, it seemed that men were men. Now it's just another forum thread for folks to get outraged about. Not saying it's right - it's clearly not - but much worse things in the world happen. Overall, we've rarely got into tribal divisions. Unlike a lot of clubs coming from places with spread out communities, the unity for the cause was always what kept us together. But if you never saw arguments, divisions, reputations violently clashing together, then I wonder where you were all these years and if you even followed football back then.

it did happen mate the lad who went at him just kept on,and then in the seats in front of us two lads were throwing punches. Was the Olympic Stadium built on some sort of ancient burial site and entering means your possessed to act like a knob? Let's hope the place is cursed! Stokies fighting is nothing new. In the Old Boothen, when there weren't any opposition fans, there was often 'banter' between the various areas of the city and Newcastle Under Lyme.

Happened in the Boothen end last season or the season before in the beer que again, an older bloke with a younger lad going at it, thought it was quite embarrising for the older bloke he tried a kick but was a bit too over weight and it looked extremely silly. My mate' daughter was terrified by the incident and hasn't been back since.

i went to Luton the one where we went 2-0 up then lost 6-2 , went on a bus with a load of dickheads and that's being polite I don't know what happened before the game but I think one of the lads on our bus twatted a lad outside mistaking him for a Luton fan when he was really a Stoke fan , big mistake , anyway a the end of the game as we were leaving I saw this lad with long hair walk up to the lad in question and I swear iv,e never seen someone stick the nut on someone so violently the cricket ball size lump that appeared on his face was shocking and he was visably shaken all the way back to the potteries
I never went on that bus again

No, it's a big city problem. I've lived and worked in many UK cities. I don't buy that Stoke is any worse than any of them, and in quite a few cases it's certainly better.

Not saying it didn't happen, but if it did, the two of you should report it. IF nothing happens, he will do it again. I think it's amazing coincidence that only one person saw it and also saw the other punch-up. I'd deffo report it.

I've always said there's a "certain type" of "fan" that you only encounter at away games. I don't know where they sit for Home games or if they just change personality on away days. To and from the stadium was fine on Saturday, but among the seats during the game, there was a definite "atmosphere" oozing from some folk. For example, the lad near me seemed frustrated at the quietness from the Stoke support at times and went on a rant about people only turning up for one game a year...<expletive>, <expletive>, rant , rant, etc". That continued occasionaly through the game along with random simmering aggressiveness from other quarters (moreso than other away games I've been to). I dunno, maybe it was because of the "hype" surrounding the game - we were classed as a "Category 3" (the worst), in terms of policing apparently, that peoople seemed fired-up for no reason at all. Or as pointed out, some people really need to lay off the booze/baby powder. Oh and for the record - I didn't see any actually mither involving Stoke fans fighting West Ham fans - just West Ham fighting amongst themselves. Just like at the Brit . It must be a Cockney thing.
