I may be clutching at straws but there seems to be nothing in that story with any real conviction
It just seems rehashed from his injury ...Hughes said he was back on the pitch, butland hasn't tweeted and no other networks are covering it
It just seems a way to make a headline that he isn't available for tomorrow which he never was anyway
Let's see eh

If Jack is struggling with injury I'd love to see us go back for Asmir. Grant has been brilliant in a few games but Asmir great for a few years and world class for one.

Bego would be good.
Perrin at Genoa is an excellent keeper who would do a fine job.
Joe Hart?
Only if it's proper bad obviously.
But if it's like what the initial set back apparently was (something hitting the scar tissue). How can you ever really get over that if the likelihood is that if something hits it, you're injured? We can only hope that's not the case.

Prefer Butland to all them Bayern Me too but if it is a case of the scar tissue being hit and he's fucked then I can't see how we can operate with not having another very good goalie or getting rid of him. All of this is guesswork of course but if it as bad as it sounds then it had to be thought. I reckon Perrin can be better mind. He's very good. Hopefully though it's just a case of it taking a while and we don't need to think in the worst case.

On the radio driving to the game I heard he needs to go back to the specialist as he has some discomfort in his ankle, so who knows?

As the opening poster on this thread I used the phrase "A Breath of Fresh Air". I am glad to say that last night Grant continued to Instill me with confidence.
I thought he had a good game, and let's hope that it continues until Jack is fully ready and needed.

If and when Jack is fit and well again what is going to happen with regards to Grant ? Grant has been like a breath of fresh air since he came into the team and IMHO been very instrumental in our recovery from a very shaky start to the season. His very steady performances have given the defenders in front of him confidence which has then passed on to the rest of the squad. Should Jack return to the bench, or walk straight back into the team ? Jack probably has to come in after a few weeks full training. No need to rush now though. And he needs to take note of Grant's willingness to go long. He has refused to play us into trouble continually with ridiculous roll outs to the centre backs. His willingness to go long has brought Bony into the game way more and forced the opposition back ten yards. That has to continue, it's been key to our turnaround.

I think Fergie called it "squeaky bum". Getting Jack Butland back is essential to us having a successful season.

You would think so. But no need to rush him now is there?

My prediction is he'll be either on the bench or in goal against Burnley

It would seem that since this thread was started in Oct what most of us have said and wished for is coming to fruition and the back room staff and management are handling his recovery and rehabilitation properly.
Our Injury problems in general and suitable contingiuncy strategy can be, and at times concearning, and hopefully lessons have been learnt, not only in GK position but throughout the squad positions.
Grant has been a revelation and deserves our respect and support. I hope that Jack returns and maintains the level that he attained prior to his unfortunate injury,

Don't rush him no. Grants been an inspired signing. We haven't had decent goal keeping back up for a while which we're usually renowned for.

Still can't believe that Grant was 3rd choice at Derby Just out of favour you'd have to think. Otherwise Carson ought to be in the England squad (Heaven forbid).
