Precisely how bad do things need to get before Hughes and his management team actually consider making a substitution?
Middlesbrough (a) - two subs used - 69 and 78 minutes
Man City (h) - two subs used - 72 and 88 minutes
Everton (a) - three subs used - 65 minutes and double change on 78 minutes
Spurs (h) - two subs used - 67 and 71 minutes
Palace (a) - one sub used - 68 minutes
We've taken one point from five games and we've only used our maximum available subs in one of our five games so far. We've trailed in four of the five games at the time of our first sub being made and not one player has even been given half an hour to make an impact on the match. All it says to me is that Hughes doesn't believe a number of our squad are fit and ready enough to produce more than around 20 minutes for us in a competitive match. Charlie Adam in particular is a mystery, only featured in one of our league games this season and that was a 20 minute appearance against Spurs last week. If he isn't fit enough to feature more I'd much rather have somebody like N'Goy on the bench to bring on.
Just one of the many frustrations I have about the way things are unfolding at the moment. Two massive games next week now, we need results and quickly.

At half time 2 should have been dragged off. I'd have sat there and put all there names in a hat and said your all as fucking shit as each other and 2 of your are going. To let that shower of shit to Continue was abysmal managing AGAIN.

This is an old problem and like many other old problems Hughes just isn't sorting it out. Trouble is, the shit that he has swept wonder the carpet now seems to be catching up badly with the club. He is quite clearly stubborn and blinkered in his handling of his duties and I am now of the opinion that the sooner he is replaced the better :/

If plan A goes wrong he doesn't seem to know how to change it or thinks it will just come good in the end, today needed big changes and it didn't happen.

Just like his transfer dealings, too little ,too late and mainly in the wrong places. Defence garbage since turn of the year (50 goals conceded, worst in league by miles), so we let two defenders go and just borrow one. Add to that, blind stupid loyalty to non performers( Given, Whelan, Walters for starters) and the rest is history. Goal difference of -11 after just 5 games says it all. Wonder who the next two scapegoats will be, after Pieters and Imbula today?

I don't think it has anything to do with believing players not to be fit. It's more that Hughes has no tactical ability.

He only ever makes changes when the game is gone not when the game can be retrieved, does my head in.
