Will British Citizens who have gained Irish citizenship now be eligible for compulsory military call up? Compulsory draft is on the decline in Europe, but is it politically unacceptable like Britain? I don't think so. Will we have have British cum Irish citizens called up to prop up Ukraine?

I'd rather have a common military force than a posh one. "Toodle pip Jean-Baptiste Chasseloup de Mahonqueville old garçon chocs away we'll meet for a brandy in Odessa" just doesn't cut it any more. I want rough arsed lads like Rambo fighting for us.

I wonder who would surrender first, the Italians or the French? It would collapse as a whole its the leaders of this army that are the problem, not the fodder. russia would cut straight through a euro army before they'd decided what uniform to wear

The whole idea of the EU was to create a federalist superstate run by unelected bureaucrats from Brussells...the federalist army is the first step to a one party state that runs everyone in it. If we get out as promised we will be the first of many once the rest wake up and smell the coffee.

I wonder who would surrender first, the Italians or the French? If you're referring to WW2, if it hadn't been for the channel, which we could scuttle back across, do you think we could have withstood the Wehrmacht? If it hasn't been for the RAF, propped up by many foreigners, that prevented Luftwaffe control of the air, could this country have resisted invasion? While Churchill was strutting around with his tommy gun, saying he was going to kill any Germans he met - the reality was his plane was fuelled and ready to fly to Canada to set up a government in exile. Just glad it wasn't the British who surrendered in Singapore - Brits wouldnt do that, would they? Maybe you read too many commando magazines as a youngster?

Unless they were able to capture several important. Ports along the south coast .....how would they have carried out an invasion , by towing converted coal barges full of men across the channel ? .......the German High command themselves admitted it would have been akin " to putting our troops through a meat mincer " .
