I think this is a big ask for us this season .
Chelsea and Everton for sure will go past us , however well we do following their change of manager
Southampton and West Ham might struggle a bit but still think West Ham will come good , they have a lot of talent there
Afellay and Butland are huge losses for us
I will be happy if we can stay our of trouble and maybe have a cup run

I think if we get Bony firing then there is still a chance we might get close to last seasons points total. But somehow I can't see that number of points securing 8th.A fair few teams have moved ahead of us by some margin. The top 6 will almost certainly be Manure, ManC, Chelsea, Arse, Spurs and Liverpool. Everton West Ham Leicester and probably Palace all seem to have strongly first xi's than us so I can't really see any higher than 11th

Let's wait and see if we can reach the giddy heights of 18th first. Then we can take it from there.

Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Liverpool, Everton, and then a raft of similar teams.
A challenge, but possible, although I suspect 12th to 14th will be as good as it gets this season.

We finished 9th last season and had one more point at this stage, and ended the season terribly. Therefore, there is no reason why we cannot secure more points and finish higher if we improve once again and become consistent. The next four or five games will tell us if this is just another Hughes' slow start or a major downturn in our form. Problem is the teams that finished below us have strengthened well and/or improved managers , Chelsea , everton and probably palace have improved enough to finish above us. Meanwhile the teams that finished above us are expected to do similar again except for Southampton maybe

Cheers lcfc, are you looking for top 6 this season? Possibly, top ten finish I'd be content with.

I'd like to finish higher than 8th this season. That's all well and good but I don't really give a shit what you'd like. I'm more interested in what mark and his team would like!

Anyone think after the start we've had, we can go one better than last season and finish 8th? Can't see it myself with the injuries we've started with, but after Leicester last season, anythings possible!!! Only if we get the help from the refs like leicester did last season
