Unless we are playing Arsenal at home or a bad performance from the ref, it won't change.
Leicester and Crystal Palace are the only who sing through the whole game we don't have enough chants I guess?

Was just this last hour talking with a friend about the atmos, or lack of, both came to the same conclussion, too many moaning prawn sarny fans and we really need a standing area where the more vociferous of us can go and leave the moaners to moan at each other for 90 mins every other week, wont happen of course but would be great to signs on the turnstyles stating "MOANING" or "NON MOANING"

In my opinion it's not our job to get the atmosphere going. It's down to the players to give us something to shout about. In the first couple of seasons we were all buzzing to be back and although the football wasn't to everyone's taste we knew our players were playing up to and beyond their maximum level and we knew they'd need our support to win games, so we were inclined to give them all the support we could.
Now, we have better players and we quite rightly expect to win more matches. Add that to the fact we're now used to Prem football, our players more often perform below what we know they're capable of (although this is still often better than the best we could hope for in 08/09) and our play often being boring when we knock it about around the back 4, our stands are bound to be quieter.
As much as we all love a good atmosphere, it's only natural that we expect more, so our noise levels go down and it's up to our players to give us something to shout about

Recently I've changed my stance because as much as I agree with what the players do on the pitch influences the supporters greatly, it can, and probably must do the same to the players when we as supporters are really vocal Basically, it must work both ways Vis Unita Fortior

Sorry to hear about your atmosphere, as mentioned it was once regarded as one of the best in the Premier League. It's difficult because yes we (Leicester), get plaudits for our home atmosphere, but it's always in the back of my mind that we use drums, do the poznan (kind of), clappers, and goal music in which we constantly get labled with names for, I'm always worried about our reputation as our club.
It's saddening to me because I think English fans can, or used to be able to produce a proper atmosphere without the need of encouragement/prompts. It just seems these days atmosphere's need prompting to be honest. But it's not even a case of incapable, every club's fans are capable of producing atmosphere without the need of enhancements, it takes commitment & effort. However, fan groups are the way forward for English support, it's the best option we've got, dedicated fan groups who give their all to the atmosphere. Palace, Birmingham and Watford have all benefited from fan groups.

However, fan groups are the way forward for English support, it's the best option we've got, dedicated fan groups who give their all to the atmosphere. Palace, Birmingham and Watford have all benefited from fan groups. We've never done that happy-clappy type atmosphere. I'm not knocking it but when people compared what we produced to the likes of Palace, Burnley and Leicester they're effectively incomparable. It's two completely different types of atmosphere. What we do better than anyone is bias and a reaction to a perceived injustice. That first season back, everyone said we'd "do a derby" and break records whilst getting relegated. We were paid no respect and Pulis helped to create a siege-mentality that made The Brit very intimidating. Every so often it's happened since (Liverpool 3-1 when Suarez won a penalty in the first minute, Spurs 0-1 when Sherwood substituted Rose because of the venom raining down on him) but it's getting rarer and rarer as expectations have risen and our memories of life outside the top-flight fade ever more with the passing years. Unfortunately the dire atmospheres are symptomatic of how the game has changed for the worse. Supporter and customer are two completely different words, unfortunately you get more and more corporate types working at football clubs and working in football nowadays who don't understand that. I'm very hesitant to blame football supporters for the diminishing atmospheres in the top-flight. edit: if we bring back standing areas to football grounds, and see a return to large sections of grounds or even entire ends that are standing, then atmosphere will improve immeasurably, maybe not to pre-premiership levels but closer to those days than to the present atmospheres

I feel it has gone down noticeably with a lot of new support, but also the clubs players and DNA is slowly changing into a more entertaining spectacle as well. It's still a top place to watch a match in the league though.

I see where people are coming from that the players have to give us something to cheer for; but sometimes it's our task to be the catalyst for a great team performance. It's also starting to get to the point that every week there is a conversation about the lack of atmosphere we have and what/who is to blame etc. Maybe we should be looking into having a supporters' group for the more vociferous fans - where supporters can talk and discuss with the club in-ways to improve the atmosphere? For instance, trying to improve on making the South-Stand a place for fans who want to create an atmosphere. I'm not talking about those labels such as: 'ultras' or 'fanatics', but just a section for like-minded fans to create a British atmosphere, with the added hint of a European atmosphere.

I think before every home match we should pick a player(from the opposition) who we will pick on,we can spread a nasty rumour if it helps. The player will spend the whole match distracted.

That would be pisser if we all hissed howled and booed every time say Deli Alli got the ball when we play Spurs next home match, you can just see the pundits talking bollox about why

Mark Hughes/Mark Bowen/Eddie Niedzwiecki/each other. Yes they might play better if they had 28,000 Stokies going mad for 90 minutes every other week but they can't expect it when they don't play well, or at least as well as we know they could
