I disagree, Whelan, Allen and Bardsley were probably the only players that turned up at the weekend. Whelan read the game well, covered the centre halves who were constantly dragged out of position, and the full backs when the went floating out of position (Pieters.) Sexist remarks aside, I will 'man up' and try to comprehend what it is that makes those 3 outclass Whelan if you would card to explain? Whelan's a great player but he was really shite at the weekend. But yeah I would definitely start him alongside Adam against Everton with Allen as a box to box midfielder. We'd get torn apart mate. Joey can't do it on his own. Adam and Allen as the engines and Imbula as the bulldozer.

Forgive me, telling people to man up to convince them to accept another's opinion shows an admirable intellect. Whelan is our most disciplined player. He sits in his position and reads the game very well. He rarely 'fucks up attack' as he isn't involved in attacks, his job is to cover, win the ball back, make blocks and keep the ball moving. Thinm Imbula exposes Whelan for most the second half of last season and exposed both Whelan and Allen against city as he offered no defensive (or attacking for that matter.) input whatsoever. You really don't see the other side of the argument do you? As I've said before Whelan looked tired, lost and unmotivated. Joey showed him how it's done. He got ran to bits at Boro and against City. Yeah ok he does a decent job covering, but countless times last week he went missing meaning Allen had to cover 15 yards on his own. Meanwhile Whelan was walking. He's clearly past it. Do not ever accuse Whelan of being unmotivated. Play well or not so well he always gives 100 per cent Yet again a player who has always given of his best and repeatedly raised his game season by season is criticised beyond belief. He may be coming to the end of his Premier career (I wouldn't put money on it) but he deserves better than your comments.

He can't offer us anything now.

Anybody been to the game? Yes. It was so easy it was untrue, we literally didn't break sweat but we knocked it about well and never gave them a sniff. Nice confidence booster.....

Just arrived back in Cumbria now, very satisfying nights work from the lads, our attitude was spot on and we controlled the game from start to finish. Some really encouraging displays, Crouch always delivers when he gets his opportunity doesn't he. I'd certainly be tempted to keep Cameron in alongside Shawcross on Saturday, thought they looked solid as a pairing, albeit against pretty poor opposition. Sobhi's half an hour display was very encouraging also, showed a great willingness to get on the ball and take on his opposing full back at every opportunity, was pleased to see he did he defensive work well on the rare occasions Stevenage threatened as well.

Seriously though did you even watch the game on Saturday? All he did was walk around and then give the ball away in dangerous areas, he is nowhere near world class at all. For the 3rd time. He was played as our attacking midfielder A position he's never played before A position he's not familiar with And just so you get the message, he was played in a position He hasn't played in before. Can anyone with a fucking brain and eyes just confirm that what I've wrote is correct and Imbula was indeed played out of position ? It's no coincidence he lost the ball numerous times playing number 10 but never loses it when he plays box to box. You're spot on, but much like he was the best player in the club after the game against Boro he is now the worst after the performance against City...

I know this is going to end up starting the Wollscheid debate but why is Ryan in so many chosen 11's for the next game? Out of him and Wollscheid so far this season, Shawcross has been shocking, and Wollscheid has been decent. Ryan isn't fit, may never be again, people need to stop pinning their defensive hopes on him. He probably won't ever be the player he was a couple of years ago again. He may just be out of form... Sorry bud but that is cobblers. Which part is cobblers exactly mate? Ryan not being fit? It's clear he isn't. Wollscheid being better of the 2 in the first 2 games of the season? May be a matter of opinion but I'd definitely say so. He hasn't been the same player for a couple of years to the one we've been so used to? Undeniable.
