This guy is good - injuries aside - but I would prefer that Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Dortmund.
Just a bit expensive to put on the back of your shirt

This is one of the few pictures where Papa looks like he isn't trying to eat or injure someone. So may be an idea to get Afellay to have a word with him. He's just sizing up which bit to sink his teeth into first I reckon. Beware the false smile.

A medical will determine whether there is anything physically wrong with him. Maybe his injuries are down to youthful exuberance, he did play over 30 matches last season. Oh and by the way, how many people who have dismissed him, remember another CB from Meir who was refused an apprenticeship by Stoke, who refused on offer to go to Portsmouth because he wanted to play for Stoke, and was one of the most injury prone players on record?

.. without gloves, must've been a barmy afternoon. It's from when we trialled the infamous Game 39, on Mercury.

That has zero relevance to signing another injury prone player for our injury prone squad.

If he's fit and over his injuries he looks the type we need.
We could definitely do with a bit more steel to compliment the finesse we have in abundance.

I've seen a couple of posters mention that Denis Smith was injury prone, presumably to justify signing another injury-prone player. But didn't one of Denis' injuries (along with other player injuries that season) put paid to our chances of winning the league? Having injury-prone players can come at a cost. Friend, Denis's injury was a broken leg (along with Pejic, Ritchie and Robertson). Four in one season - god knows how our friends from the Emirates would cope with that!.

Do We also need a CB who can play LB or a LB who can play CB and wing back.?to complete our squad. We would be covered for 5-3.2 and 3-5-2.Also 4-3-3 and 4-2-3-1. Even 4-4 2. Would it mean that we are stoke city and we can play how we want. You've lost me.

Seems a decent player, he's young and has had injury setbacks and is mad as all hell on the pitch. Sign him up!

If he's injury prone as suggested, we're better off staying well clear, we have enough injury riddled centre backs. Very good defender when fit though.

Papadopoulus is one of the easier Greek names to pronounce.
If he arrives here I am sure he will become Pap.
On the earlier video he looked like the kind of player we need.
As far as injuries are concerned best leave it to the experts.

Apart from a long term knee injury, his main problem seems to be a recurring shoulder problem.
There aren't many players out there who haven't had injury problems which would flag up on a chart like that if you're wary of players who are supposedly injury prone. I'd suggest that we wouldn't sign many players if you are insistent on signing only players who have no history of injury problems.
He's clearly a very good defender (as the list of clubs interested in him in the recent past suggests) and if he can come through a medical with no problem then he'd be a great addition to our squad.

There's no place for talking sense here Dave.... Afellay, Muni, Bardsley etc came through a medical and will continue to be injury prone until they retire. Our injuries aren't a coincidence and signing players prone to injury has been a part of that. This lad as I've previously mentioned is bloody excellent but I think injuries with our record and the players we already have do have to be factored in. And as someone else said centre back is where you want a partnership and players who can play 36/37 league games playing. It's a gamble with his injuries, that's obvious.

Buying him is one thing, but the quoted £12M seems an awful lot for a gamble! They paid just £5M themselveves, according to some papers, so maybe a bid around £6M with add ons related to games played for us would be wise?
