My favourite poster on this board. Your dedication knows no bounds! Have you ever actually met your namesake? Sadly no. But the thought of the possibility of one day meeting him is what gets me out of bed in the morning. Also, and sadly again, he is not my namesake. Although I have considered changing my name to Glenn Whelan, as well as naming my children Glenn (as I believe i've mentioned before). The Whelan name must live on. It is the least I can do to show my respect.

One of my favourite hobbies over the years has been collecting and collating pictures of Glenn Whelan's lips. I feel that fellow Stoke City supporters will appreciate these pictures more than most people, so I will share a few of my favourites with you now... #1 The pronounced smooth texture on this one perfectly personifies his elegance on the playing field. But its not without a certain ruggedness. Top lips. #2 Seductive. I can't look at this one too long otherwise, you know.. #3 My favourite. Have this framed on my wall. #4 The way the light reflects off his teeth really catches my eye. Reminds me of summer end of the season matches where his teeth glisten in the sunshine. #5 A really poignant flavour. My mouth salivates sweet saliva when I look at this one for a while. #6 Never chapped. Never wobbly. Never hesitant. Confident Irish lips of a true great. #7 Circa 2014: Steamy and Alluring. #8 The contours on his juicy lips are a fine example of some of the greatest natural architecture. #9 Flaunt it Glenny Boy. Wide apart, tightened up, puckered up... Doesn't matter, they're always 10/10. #10 Ooooohhh Whelan you've done it again. Fucking brilliant pair. The Danny Pugh thread has being matched well played sir!

I feel slightly starstruck writing this because I've a feeling you definitely play for the Mighty Potters! Yours sincerely, Mendicant.

It looks like Glen is indeed off to The Villa.
Have you introduced yourself to any Villa fans' message boards, as yet?

I love I love Glenn Whelan and we all love Glenn Whelan. It's going to feel funny without him on the pitch in his wrist bandages and boy in detention for looking in his teachers handbag haircut. Bon chance Glenn, Bon chance.

Bon chance Glenn, Bon chance. Get the feelin' it'll only be an au revoir. Can see him back in the Prem season after next, an integral part of their squad. Straining to be unleashed at the Bet.
