The only bonus is Ronaldo contributed little all tournament and nowt on the final. Yeah OK mate. Do you really think they'd be in the Final if he wasn't playing for them?

For all those so called expert pundits and those in the media wanking themselves silly over John Stones, look no further than Pepe and Fonte for what an actual centre half should do, defended like their lives depended on it, kept things nice and simple on the ball. Not rocket science......

I hate time wasting. Clattenberg booked the keeper for wasting 30 seconds at the end and then immediately blew for full time after he kicked it! I would punitively add double the time wasted if I were a ref. Do a course then and start reffing. Anyone can work their way up.... I'm happy with my career thanks.

It's all me, me, me from Ronaldo. Seems like he has not learnt his lesson yet Portugal won when he was not on the pitch doing everything to steal the limelight Learn some humility you shit face Fuck you and fuck the red nosed mentor you had for so many years at manure I'm happy for the other Portuguese players and happy that all in all Portugal won it in spite of Ronaldo and not thanks to Ronaldo The great hero is Fernando santos

If you have ever played football, even at amateur level like me, you will know that Payet knew exactly what he was doing with that tackle. He used a ball-winning tackle to crunch the opposition player. The ref can't give it; you think it was fair; the game is finished for the opposition team's star player. I really want Portugal to win this now, having been completely neutral before that tackle. The French have had quite a few things go for them in this tournament. Their luck is about to run out! You are talking to someone who had his leg broken in three places playing football, so with the greatest of respect, I think I might know what I'm on about. Just because a star player gets injured doesn't mean it's a foul. Oh, and by the way, thanks for being so fucking patronising! I'm sorry to appear patronising to you. It wasn't my intention. I'm surprised you disagree with my point. I know from experience those type of tackles were common place in Sunday football and if that was your job, that's what you did. (An illegal challenge masked by a foot on the ball, followed by the clatter of the player).

So much negativity on here.
I'd love to hate it as much as most others appear to have, I just love football.
I hate Ronaldo. He's generally a vain cock. I hate Pepe too. Portugal haven't been very good throughout the tournament.
Having said all that, I still enjoyed it tonight, despite it being a poor encounter for large periods.
There's something about the underdog pulling through and succeeding. Portugal were second favourites at kick off and then lost their star player early on. I loved it when they scored in extra time. Seeing Pepe throw up at the final whistle kind of epitomises how much effort they put into getting that result.
It's always easier to pick fault.

Today Portugal showed that they won as a team, a team effort not a one man show Rui Patricio was impeccable in goal Fonts and Pepe (who is be nevertheless a first class cunt) rock solid at the back Guerrero was very good, William managed to close off the dangerous pockets between the lines, Joao Mario was immense Ronaldo was his usual self - a cunt from start to finish

In all four of Portugal's knockout games in Euro 2016 they have averaged less possession than their opponents. Much like Leicester City last season who averaged 42% possession and boasted the worst pass completion in the league, it has been their rigid organisation, team work and good shape that has made the difference. They've made themselves hard to beat and took their chances at the crucial times. As was the case with Greece in Euro 2004, substance has prevailed over style again. It might not have always been pretty to watch, but I actually think it's been a really entertaining tournament from a defensive and tactical point of view.
It'll be interesting to see how many more Premier League teams alter their playing style next season after watching Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and Portugal in Euro 2016, football has become much more reliant on what you are doing without the ball than what you are doing with it.
As for Paul Pogba, yet again in a major cup final, just like the 2014/15 Champions League final with Juventus, he has flattered to deceive when it has mattered the most. World class players rise to the occasion and make the difference on the biggest stage, tonight he was one of the poorest players on the pitch and ineffective throughout. £100 million? Do me a favour.

You would want someone like that in your squad in that situation, and it showed that he can be a team player. I also dislike Pepe but he was absolutely immense. Portugal deserved to win this competition. They showed great resolve, they never allowed anyone to get the better of them and that manager is the coolest guy I have seen for a long time. Straight out of the Seventies.

I'm glad Portugal won, for them and Ronaldo. People moan about how he reacts and things he does(like Arnie) but it is just his passion of wanting to be the best. If you look at how much pressure he has from the press and pundits yet he takes it. You don't realise it but this is also for the team because they don't get the flack and pressure like he does. He will take it all and let's the others concentrate on their game. Look at how he got Mountinho to take that penalty, said it's in God's hands trying to take pressure off him. Don't get me wrong he can piss you off but he is a great player who also does a lot for others.

Ronaldo is one of the greatest players ever. But when Portugal won he wasn't on the pitch. How does that scan really? ? Must be a coincidence surely Like Kante getting 3 yellow cards in as many games in the Euros and the same amount of yellow cards in 37 games in the EPL last season Just a coincidence, nothing but a mere coincidence ....

As usual ronaldo has to make it all about him. If it had been any other player there wouldnt have been half as much fuss. He really winds me up and the commentators are just the same. But because its ronaldo they have to make a big deal of it. He got injured in a tournament so what he wont be the first and wont be the last. Nothing but a drama queen
