Fair play if he's rejected a bigger offer from us
Must think Southampton are the better prospect and the better chance of a springboard step
Now let's fuck the thread off

So, it looks like we were willing to pay around £20m for the transfer fee and more money for his wage and yet I'm sure Benji will come on saying we lack ambition and are only trying to sign free transfers.

Stoke and more importantly for the owners (BET365) being outmanoeuvred by Southampton now three times in the last 18 months? Questions need to be asked why? If he is mates with Imbula this one would seem obvious Probably right but what was the reason for Nathan Redmond choosing Southampton when he is good mates with Jack Butland?

Pretty obvious that Imbula really sold Stoke City to him at any cost.

Yes, we've been outmanoeuvred by a club that has consistently finished higher than us regularly vie for European football got a reputation for playing good footbal not rugby (whether justified or not) seen as a stepping stone to a move to a top 6 club Is on the coast in a beautiful part of the country close enough to the outskirts of London to commute If I could be arsed I'm sure I could think of a lot more things which make Southampton a more attractive prospect than Stoke but I can't because I expect it wouldn't alter your view anyway.

Obviously realises that he'll get a move upwards much easier at Southampton
Much much better track record of player turnover
Need to get Imbula moved on if he's going so we can get put it all in the past

There hasn't been one report that we've bid that much let alone had a bid accepted. As for a footballer and agent turning down any sort of significantly improved offer from us, I find that hard to believe. I conclude that tweet to be utter twaddle and looking at his timeline he looks little more than a an Abdal Views character,

At time like this I believe it is important to quote level headed people with revelant commentary on our transfer events to calm the mood " DUH DUH DUH another bites the dust! DUH DUH DUH another !!!!" - Tony Dreamtheater

And there lies the problem. Southampton were promoted at the end of the 2011/2012 season which is some years after we were. Outperformed us both on and off the pitch. Hence the reason why I suggested we should ask questions concerning how the Club is run (including transfers). I hope that a cleansing of the squad (as it appears is happening after years of this being needed) will stand us in a better position in the future? We need to have a clear plan because piss poor planning leads to piss poor performance.

That statement has about as much relevance today as your statement above. Southampton are where they are now and as unpalletable as it is they are a more attractive proposition to players than we are.

Lack of good feeling and investment comes back to bite us. Again.
We needed to set our stall out, start of this window. Anyone who thinks West Ham, Southampton, Palace and probably Bournemouth & Watford haven't passed us is kidding themselves.
We've regressed back to a bottom half team, it's obvious.
And I don't think the problem is at the door of LMH

Yeah, why like someone as clueless as you is asking the question ? If we've bid more money and higher wages it's surely obvious that either the perceived career ladder or coastal base is more attractive. No offence.

I think it has slightly more relevance that club of similar size, who were two leagues below us when we were getting our feet under the table in the the flight are by your acceptance a much better proposition than us now. It's a moot point anyway, I was disagreeing with your assessment of the two clubs, I severely doubt we were seriously in for the player at the price anyway.

There will be many reasons why a player chooses one Club over another and a continual review of events should always take place to be or become successful in business and/or life. You don't know me and you don't know how successful in life I or anyone else is so no need to be rude. Don't really know why I would even waste the time of day replying to such a rude and ignorant aresehole. No offence 👍

The Redmond signing really was the one that got me. The lad is Jack butlands best mate, and what a signing he would have been for us
