We're delighted he's staying, and what a great boost for us. I and a majority of Leicester fans would've understood if he wanted to move to Arsenal, but he's been loyal to Leicester. What did occur to me, was that it's similar to the Deeney situation - if he stays at Watford, again he would (deservedly) be given major praise for his loyalty.
However, now Vardy has signed a new contract with LCFC, another side of it is that Deeney knows if he joins us, he could potentially be partnering Vardy as a strike partner - in which they could be an excellent pairing considering Deeney assisted some of Ighalo's goals, scoring 13 PL goals himself of course. Whatever Deeney decides, I can understand, just like I can with Vardy.

100,000 displays of loyalty a week. +1 lets not go too overboard on the old 'loyalty' front. Arsenal were offering £120,000 - Leicester £100,000. I know its inconceivable to us, but £20,000 a week to a footballer is neither here nor there. There was also no doubt a loyalty bonus, he'll be due for staying with the club. That said, fair play to him. He could have walked away from Leicester knowing that next season isn't going to be like last. I think had it been a club such as Man City,Chelsea he'd have gone. Arsenal are no longer real contenders for the title, and pretty much everybody knows that.

He has made the correct decision in terms of football, his career, common sense and loyalty. The only thing he's missing out on is a big pay rise, but I'm sure that £100,000 a week will soon settle any financial worries. He probably looked at the England squad, wondered where Walcott, Chamberlain and Welbeck were, twigged that joining Arsenal would effectively kill his career and opened negotiations with Leicester. I think its a medical decision, his wrist would never recover if he joined the Arsenal

It's great for Leicester he is staying but loyalty my arse he signed an £80k per week contract in February and is now only turning down £120k per week because Leicester have upped his contract by £20k per week barely 3 months later, loyalty would have been to come straight out and reject a move. ??? so he isn't showing any loyalty by turning down an extra £20k a week he could have got from Arsenal then? why do i get the feeling that if Ryan was in this position you'd be praising him fully for his decisions? "Loyalty would have been to come straight out and reject a move"...do you know anything about football in today's age exactly? Both Jack (recently) and Ryan (a while back) have negotiated extensions which led to wage increases...strange you didn't slate their lack of loyalty then eh? Vardy was their top scorer and one of the main reasons they just won the Premiership trophy, he therefore asks for a bit more (but not as much as Arsenal are willing to offer him) to remain. what's wrong with that exactly? pretty much exactly what ANYONE on here would do if they were top performer at their company and were being head hunted by someone else (in fact no actually it isn't as most would just go to the highest bidder full stop i.e. Arsenal in this case). a footballer does it though and automatically he's some disloyal mercenary. Ludicrous Jesus wept I know footballers pay is one of your favourite hobby houses but maybe instead of the nth variance on something you've written before, you might consider what I wrote. But to answer your ludicrous assertions, he signed a contract in February with a significant payrise to £80k if it wasn't enough no need to sign it. He only knows what Arsenal would pay him as he went and spoke to them to see, how very fucking loyal. How you think that equates with Butland \ Ryan renegotiating with the club in private god only knows and yes if 4 months after signing new contracts they did the same as Vardy I absolutely would be slating any mention of loyalty, still at least with Vardy you know the price of loyalty roughly £20k a week.

For refusing to leave the champions for the 2nd place team and making a step down? There was another thread about this, I can't be arsed to go over it again. No problem.

Just dealing with some fundamentals for a moment. He would be earning considerably more than 20k a week more if he went to Arsenal with all the worldwide marketing deals he would attract and ongoing Champions League football bonuses. I think we are talking double of what he will be getting at Leicester who never ever get a sniff of the top 4 again.

Regardless of the rights and wrongs, can we take a few minutes to laugh at the fact that a player has just strung Arsenal along for a better deal from Leicester?

Well done Leicester and respect to Vardy.
Good news for football. A "big" club fails to land a target from one of the "minnows".

I wonder whether Mahrez and Kante will show the same "loyalty" Mahrez and Kante have more possibilities than Vardy.

The weirdest question is why Arsenal have bid for him in the first place. He doesn't suit how they play at all.
