Now then. Confession time.
I moved to Leicester a few years ago so, though I am a Stoke fan of several decades standing, I do like to keep an eye on local teams.
Today, I am with friends who are Leicester natives and I am at the victory parade, they invited me, I said yes.
Don't care what anyone says, what the club have done is incredible and the fans are fantastic and deserve every minute of it.
I'm in a pub at the moment. There's plenty of local people who are, like me, fans of other clubs by nature of where they grew up etc, but we are all here to cheer this club on for what they have done. It gives new hope to clubs like ours, that we can aim high and not just assume the 'big clubs' will take all the honours by default.
Flame away but this is a momentous event for the town I now live in and I make no apologies for joining in.
Thought about wearing my Stoke top, decided not to but honestly it would be OK, there's other club tops visible here. Everyone is behind this brilliant achievement.
Wouldn't do this for any other club bar Stoke normally.
Yours, Gloryhunter for the day

Each to his own but if that'd happened to my "adopted " home town I couldn't give two shits.I can't bring myself to get excited about Leicester or any other club apart from Stoke I'm afraid. Enjoy the celebration, but if you join in any songs or chants then you really need to think twice about your allegiance ????

Anyhow, no chance I could have made the testimonial. You should see the bloody traffic round Leicester. No idea what's going on.

Bit like going to your mates wedding. Pleased for him but secretly want to be in bed with the bride. You want what's on his plate.

Well if the evening results in some pissed up Leicester bird getting it up the wrong'un then it's possibly a price worth paying.
All that blue is making me feel a little seasick, mind...

If you have lived and worked around the UK, Europe, or the rest of the world there's nothing wrong in culturally enriching yourself with a new experience and secondary affiliation. Whether it's Ajax, Green Bay Packers, Ayr United, or the Tugalug Tuk Tuk Ramblers.
Not everyone is going to live in the shadow of a bottle kiln all their life living off a diet of lobby, chips in newspaper, and lard butties as they save up old copies of the Oatcake and look at their collection of Green Shield Stamps. The world does not end at Meir traffic lights.

The first time I want watch the victory parade in the actual street I'd only ever want it be Stoke.
I would feel nothing being there and it wouldn't sit right with me.

It was a great evening I have to say...all very friendly and no trouble. Incredible number of people. I didn't stick around for the late night partying, I was back home by 9pm. Whatever people think of Leicester City or the city itself, what they have done is shown that football does not have to be dominated by a select four, or even six, 'big clubs'. It can be different. It should give renewed vigour to teams like us and many others. We do not have to say '7th is the best we could ever hope for' or 'just grateful to be in the Prem' or other such small-time stuff that has been - understandably - trotted out on these very boards in recent years.
Forget 'pushing on' and 'beating last years points total' - as good as these things are - football is about winning. We could win it. We should set out every season with the intention of winning the league.
The final 60 mins of the West Ham game showed us, in that brief spell, the way forward, what we COULD do if we put our minds to it.
There is nothing about Leicester's setup that couldn't be replicated right here at Stoke. In fact we are among the best placed to do so given our owner, manager and players.

The world does not end at Meir traffic lights. If the 'world' is simply the sum of what everybody thinks it is, based on their experiences, then there'll always be some who think the world ends at Meir lights, whichever the direction of travel. Someone from Meir once told me Meir Square is the centre of the Universe. So it's all relative I suppose. I used to love lard on toast and I recently found a lobby recipe on the Internet and it turned out just like my mum used to make ... except I added half a bottle of red wine, which made it even better!!

I do not blame you one bit. I lived in Leicester for the past three years as a student and regularly head back to see friends. A lot of my friends who have no interest in football or Leicester City went yesterday just for the atmosphere, experience and to be fair the free Kasabian gig.
If I were there I would have gone but would not have joined in any club songs. Would have sung for Huth though!

Your posts tend to suggest that are either a horny goat or a dirty old man, depending on age. I just turned 60 and made a not so smooth transition. I've reached my mid fifties with a very innocuous track record and now embarking on a rejuvenation involving all the things my ex wife denied me. Starting with an RD 250 and a lady friend who could never be accused of lacking ambition. At this rate if I can get to see my 6th decade without the intervention of the NHS it will be nothing short of a miracle. Include following our lot into the equation and you end up with a mix designed for short termism at best. Born and bred here, been away now back for good.

I live in Loughborough, a stone's throw from Leicester.
It's amazing how many blue shirts have sprung up in town - they were Man Utd and Liverpool tops about 3 months ago.

Same, most of them are twats who speak about Stoke in a really condescending fashion - not just the football club, but the city, the people etc. In two years' time they'll be shit again, and those f*cking clappers will be gathering dust in peoples' sheds.
