Maybe?????If I was Peter Coates I'd be on the phone to him and asking him what he thought about joining the Mighty Potters in the Summer.

Benitez, IMHO, is a great manager and could, with Bet365 ding, do great things for us.

Rafa's pretty cautious Pugs. You up for that? He'd win us a Cup - 1 million percent. I think the word you're looking for is 'organised'.

Benitez, IMHO, is a great manager and could, with Bet365 ding, do great things for us. Surely you have to have a good reason for sacking our most successful manager at this level for decades? Benitez would be a great choice of manager, but not until Hughes has left or given us a good reason to get rid of him.

Glad you aren't in charge of our club then, otherwise we'd have a new manager every month

I'd have Tone back before this spluttering clown.

You've just said that because a better manager is available you would sack our current one, have you not? So using that rationale, we would be swapping our manager quite often would we not?

1 I don't agree or disagree with the OP but the point is
2 He is a champions league winner so it's a pretty rare opportunity and has a fantastic pedigree 3 He can't or won't go to Liverpools closest rivals as we saw at Chelsea so he can't go to a number of teams above us Southampton possibly arsenal may be but neither are available 4 He lives within 50 miles has family there and wants to stay there schools etc
Therefore it's not an everyday occurrence it's a rare coincidence of events that a champions league winner who can't go or won't go to a number of rivals and lives within 50 miles may well be available
as as I said I've no idea what the board see behind the scences so they will know best and that's what we need to support in terms of the manager , it does need to be a positive decision in terms of investment not a wait and see

There is a chance that a better manager with a record of winning trophies could make himself available. Why wouldn't a forward thinking club that is dripping money have a conversation with him? I put it out for debate, as usual people go radio fucking rental at the thought of doing something that might be against the grain.

Take cups out of it, as winning a FA cup and going down would be a disaster (ask Wigan and Portsmouth) and appointing Benitez is utter madness.
He's underachieved in the league almost every season since he left Valencia over a decade ago. And to be frank, winning a FA cup and Europa League title given the clubs he's been at in the 11 years since the Champions League title is hardly a guarantee he'll deliver a trophy at a club without the ability to sign players of the standard available to him previously.
If you're going to get rid of a manager who's turned us into a club disapointed in having to win on the final day to guarantee a top half finish, then at least replace him with somebody who has a relatively recent history of improving things at the club he's appointed to.
