They've got a long and rich history of doing this. Killing old devices, planned obsolescence, making devices incredibly difficult to repair so that very few shops will do them.... it's all part of the game.

I've had two Iphones before and both of the earpieces went in them.
EE wouldn't repair them because Apple won't let them touch their devices, what a fucking ball ache it was getting them sorted and I'd never have an Apple device ever again.
And the Apple stores can fuck off as well,I will gladly never set foot in one of those places ever again either. A shop where you have to book an appointment to go in? And then be greeted by the most pretentious of pretentious young bellends you're ever likely go meet. No thanks.

I have an IPhone and an iPad and an IMac through work, and the kids have an IPad that I won at a charity do, but I would never spend a penny on these shysters, their whole business model is praying on the gullible and then taking the piss out of them once they've got into their heads. Think people are finally cottoning on though and it's not the license to print money it once was thankfully, I predict a period of stagnation followed by a slow decline in sales......

Had an iPad 2 16Gb few years ago before the air drop technology and bought a camera and TV adaptor off the Internet. They weren't from Apple Store and therefore not Apple approved. They cost half the price and worked a treat. Then along came iOS 8 upgrade and hey presto none Apple adaptors no longer worked. Weren't Microsoft taken to task about this kind of thing years ago and told to allow none microsoft software for their computers?

They say book an appointment mate but but in reality you don't ...I've just walked into the Liverpool shop a few times and been sorted straight away I called into the Arndale store one day when my phone was on the blink and was told I need an appointment by the most obnoxious young prick I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. He told me I could have a cancellation if someone didn't show for their appointment, but that would mean standing around in the shop and hoping, so I declined that offer. Then I asked if I could go and do some shopping and call back later and the twat said yes but I'll lose my place in the queue. Never again, their customer service was shut.

I went into Trafford centre and during conversation I mentioned having an issue with charging my IPhone and the guy checked it out there and then, tested my cable and then gave me a new one.

Overrated shite. Cannot understand how a company so big cannot manufacture a phone without making the screeen as brittle as possible. Seen so many people with smashed Iphone screens. My missus only this week dropped her iphone 6 and smashed it to bits. I've Had HTC phones for at least 5 years now and never even come close to damaging it, even having dropped it several times (touch wood) And now she wants an Apple watch

I'm surprised at how popular the iWatch is. Everything I've seen suggests that's a fucking waste of time.

One reason: iSheep. Apple could release an iTurd and they'd be queueing round the block on release day. I know quite a few - most who can't afford it - have to have everything Apple.

Just literally had a phone call 20 mins ago:
Caller : Hello this is ******* ( phone company ), we are calling you Mr ************ about an upgrade on your mobile.
Me:
Hello, you have a nice voice ( she laughs ), but I am not Mr *********** & I do not have a mobile phone.
Caller : Is your postcode ******
Me : Yes it is, but I do not still have a mobile phone
Caller : right ( er, er er ) would you like a mobile phone
Me : Only if you give me your number
Caller : stuttering , thats, thats not ( can hear in background, mumbling noises , then the words JUST ASK at the top of someones voice ), so would you like a mobile, we do great deals
Me : what great deal can you do for me, send some topless selfies, then I might consider having your phone
Line goes dead

I have heard and seen more positive than negative to be honest, I agree about the company though.Even so, I like the idea of a British company trying to do something special. It's become ever increasingly difficult to buy a high quality phone for cheap, really since the Nexus 4. Now what I do, is I buy a second hand last generation 'premium' like an S5 or something. You're getting all the premium features, without the premium price tag. Plus the benefits of brand new devices are really slowing down now. This device has a bigger processor than the last one.... big deal. Android runs great on even lower end quad-core devices, especially if it's optimized properly.
